Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a drop dead gorgeous 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible!! (Please note: This car was a 1967 Lemans convertible originally from the Pontiac factory, but all modifications from Lemans to GTO have been made professionally; both front grills, hood, emblems, side rocker moldings, tail panel & tail lights, rear bumper, interior wood paneling applique & GTO passenger grip. Only the original Lemans engine remains because it just runs too well to swap out yet!). This car is registered and titled as a 1967 GTO. The good (and it's almost ALL good!!): This beauty has its original Pontiac engine, original 4-speed transmission and rear end/differential, all rebuilt by the previous owner (approximately 6,000 miles ago). The engine starts easily every time and runs like a top. It has the stock carburetor & distributor. The transmission shifts perfectly. The shifter is a perfectly functioning manual transmission Hurst shifter. The rear end is noise free and in fantastic shape. There are NO LEAKS of any kind on this machine!! The paint is less than 2 years old and NICE!! This car has always been garaged, and babied!! The new interior is VERY close to perfect! No rips and no tears in the seats, dash, door panels or carpet. It is truly beautiful! The car is optioned with power steering, totally leak free. The suspension is tight; this car tracks beautifully down the road!! The radiator is rust free and cools perfectly! NEVER an overheat, even in hot Houston weather! The brakes are all non-boosted drum brakes that stop straight ahead, with no pulling and have plenty of stopping power. The convertible top motor works great, (with new hoses and a new driver's side lift cylinder) and easily powers the top up and down. Great for top-down summer cruising!!! The frame is no-hit, rust free and extremely solid! All the front and rear bumper chrome is gorgeous and haze & rust free. The trunk is solid! No rust, no holes, with new liner & spare cover. The exhaust system is like new and rust free. It has bullet type mufflers and the engine sound is awesome and throaty! The seat belts are like new and stain free. All four wheels are restored Rallye IIs, with new trim rings, and new authentic PMD (Pontiac Motor Division), center caps! The FEW not so good things: The passenger visor mirror is missing. The aftermarket radio/CD player stereo installed is now loosely mounted and does not work. (It could be an easy adjustment, it worked up to 6 months ago when the housing became loose and the stereo stopped working). The in-dash stock radio still lights up when the headlights are turned on and may still be functional, but the speakers are not hooked up to it. There is a small ding in the hood (my auto body shop they could fix it for $300, so it's a minor fix). The faux wood paneling on the dash has a glue streak showing on it but I'm including a NEW wood paneling applique to fix this. There is VERY small, repaired tear in the convertible top, by the right side rear window. (You will not notice it unless you are looking for it, I promise! I tried to take a picture of it but it didn't show.) The back-up lights do not work. More Good things: I have 107 pictures on Photobucket.com at this link: http://s777.photobucket.com/albums/yy60/Moe145/1967%20GTO%20Convertible/ Definitely check it out!!! Bottom Line: You will be the TOTAL envy of your friends when you drive up in this magnificent automobile! And this auction is the perfect one with perfect timing to get your car for the top-down cruising season of summer!!! And this car is the ultimate cruiser!! Legal Stuff: You are bidding to own this car, not to come see it. PLEASE don't waste both my and your time with fantasy bids. Please have funds available when you bid. (See the payment specifics for payment timing). The car will be sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranty implied or otherwise. The miles on this car listed above are what is on the odometer. The actual miles exceed the odometer limit. I encourage all potential buyers to view the car in person before bidding. I am not interested in a trade. This car is for sale locally and may be removed from this eBay auction at any time. Please email me with any questions or if you would like additional pictures. On June 9-11 at 07:49:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Question received: Dear mwi421, Hi Mike! Thanks for your interest in this nice car. The car is Regimental Red, its original Pontiac color. (I know some of the pictures I took outside show a muted red color. I think the bright-sun filter was on and the color didn't come out quite right). The paint is honestly awesome, having been done just about 2 years ago to correct a "star" paint-crack pattern on the trunk lid and when I swapped out the hood (with new closing hardware) to replace the one that had hood pins, (which I didn't like). My wife calls this car a "Hollywood" car. It looks that good! Please ask any and all questions you have! Thanks,Mike - mwi421 On June-9-11 at 07:11:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 9 June: to answer many of your questions: Yes, all 4 windows roll up up and down easily. The window "fuzzies" are new and in place on all doors. The two Fresh-air vent windows (the little triangular push open windows in front of the front windows) open and close and lock perfectly. The convertible top goes up and down symmetrically and locks into place on both sides easily. (It is installed and aligned correctly). The windshield wipers work perfectly. The turn signals and floor mounted (highbeam) headlight switch work perfectly. The interior lights work perfectly. The glove box and interior console open and close and lock correctly. The parking brake works perfectly as does the console red Parking Brake light. The rear air shocks work perfectly and symmetrically. (They inflate through a nozzle by the gas tank refill, when you fold down the license plate mounted plate). All tires have good (at least 50%) tread on them. There are NO engine leaks whatsoever! Please feel free to keep asking all the questions you have. On May-23-11 at 16:13:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Just imagine!!! This could be your car parked in your garage!! How amazing would that be?!!!!!
