Thank you for viewing my auction. For sale is my 1979 VW Camper, California model. It features a 4 speed transmission, 2000cc fuel injected engine, and camping equipment including: stove, sink, refrigerator, map and dining table, rear hatch bug screen, front window curtain, and child's cot. The bus is free of any major rust and still has much of the original factory undercoating underneath! In 2002 the engine was rebuilt by a VW professional including new cylinder heads, piston and cylinder assemblies, and all engine bearings. Less than 200 miles and 2 years ago, service included: all new filters, spark plugs, brake discs, pads, rotors, and shoes, tie rod and ends. The air conditioner is un-hooked at the motor and in the cab, but all the parts remain underneath in pristine condition. The Bus ran like a dream for many years then once last summer...it lost power while underway. The engine would sort of "bog down" intermittently then come back to life. So today it starts and idles fine, I just wouldn't trust it on the road, nor can I figure out how to fix it. All the gauges, lights (interior and exterior) and wipers work fine, and the back tires are nearly new. There is a scratch and dent along the drivers side door and some animal damage to the tent. Other than that its a nice bus! Many original features and in good condition throughout. With a quick trip to the local VW mechanic you would be ready for a camping adventure!
