Vehicle Detail

This is a great, but not perfect, 1980 Camaro that started out as a 76L Dark Claret (purple) paint with 74R Carmine Vinyl Standard Interior. The VIN Number is 1P87HAL55015 The car came originally equipped with a 350 cubic inch engine and TH 350 transmission. The engine in the car is not original to the car. The identification code on the engine is VO905 CMJ which is a 1974 350 cubic inch. The block casting number is 3970010, probably a four bolt main block. The casting number of the heads is 462624. The transmission shifts very strong as well. It feels like a shift kit was installed when it was last rebuilt. The front transmission seal leaks a small amount. I have never had to add fluid. The rear transmission seal is new. The car originally came with Air Conditioning. I have taken the few remaining components off the engine along with the condenser core. You can have the core if you want it. The evaporator core is gone and the housing reshaped to recover the wasted space on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The floor boards had a small amount of rust that has been repaired. The body or trunk did not have any rust to speak of. The body and paint is in very good condition. There are some stains in the roof of the car (please see the pictures). The paint was completed in January of 2009. The body has some very small dents that were not taken out before painting. The black paint shows the imperfections very well. You cannot see the small dents 10 feet from the car. During the prep work the body was sanded down to bare metal from the mid-door line up. There is a small crack below the door striker on the drivers side that does not cause any problems (please see picture). The drivers side glass has two streaks where the glass rubbed against the window glide track. The front fenders, hood, nose and flarings are from a 1980 Z28. The flapper in the hood scoop is not connected. The engine runs very strong and had been rebuilt before I purchased the car. I tested the compression and found all cylinders between 120 and 130 psi. I have the receipts for all the items installed on the car as listed below: Remanufactured Edelbrock 600 CFM Electric Choke Carburetor New Distributor New Engine and Transmission Mounts New Aluminum Transmission Oil Pan New Battery in January 2009 New Heater Core New Thermal Fan Clutch New Battery Tray New Temperature Gauge Sending Unit New Spark Plug Wires New Leaf Springs and Energy Bushings Remanufactured Master Cylinder and Power Brake Booster Remanufactured Windshield Wiper Motor All new Rear Brake Hardware, Cables, Cylinders and Brake Shoes New Sub Frame Bushings New Grill New Trunk Hinge Torque Rods New Shocks Fresh Front End Alignment New Heavy Duty Rear Sway Bar Z28 Front Sway Bar and High Energy Bushings Z28 Tach and Gauge Dash with New Printed Circuit I added a Chevrolet Electric Oil Pressure Gauge to the Dash in Place of the Clock The interior is all new and from Classic Industries and NPD. All New Door and Trunk Gaskets New door handles and hinge pins All New Window Felts New Door Sill Plates New Front Windshield New Door Striker Bolts The tires are okay and have thread left. I would change them before winter. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability. Please view the pictures carefully and ask any questions before bidding. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer available for sale. Thank you for looking and I know you will enjoy the car if you are the winning bidder. On Jun-06-11 at 11:05:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I took the Camaro on for a long ride this weekend. I heard a noise in the rear of the car that I had forgotten. There is a low rumble coming from the rear differential. The rumble has been there since I finished the car and has never caused any problems. I had the noise checked out when the front end was aligned (May 2009) and the mechanic did not see recommend any action and said it was normal. The differential oil is clean and there are not clicks or other noises. I have been driving the car for over two years without a problem. Just in case the winning bidder is concerned, I will included an spare differential (same 2:73 ration) in the sale. Thank you, Leo
