Vehicle Detail

This was owned by the legendary "little old lady" till she passed it on to her son. He used it for a few years and then sold it to me, about 3 years ago. I believe they took pretty good care of it but lived on a gravel road. Some of the paint has been chipped by flying gravel and sand. Since I've owned it I have greased it and changed the oil & filter every 5,000 miles. It has a recently replaced battery, air filter and P205/75R15 Uniroyal Tiger Paw Tires with about 70% remaining tread, and it goes down the road without any shaking or pulling. It has been very dependable and there have been no problems with it and it started every day during the last couple of severe winters. Sometimes, during really low temperatures, it was the only one of our cars that would start! It gets 22 to 25 MPG on the highway running 70 MPH and was used for commuting 35 miles one way to work for a couple of years. Not bad for a 250" straight 6 with a turbo 350 transmission. It would make an excellent first car for a teenager without embarrasing them like an econobox or rice burner would. If you are not into 6 cylinders you could easily bolt in your choice of any small or big block Chevy V-8. To retain some economy I'd recommend a 200R4 tranny for the overdrive capability. 1979 was the last of the rear wheel drive Nova's. We decided to sell it because we don't use it much any more since we've bought an S-10 pickup. It has an AM radio and A/C but the system needs a recharge every summer. Must be a small leak in the system. The interior is in good condition for a 32 year old car with only a couple of small splits in the fabric on the drivers seat. The headliner and door panels are in very good condition. The visors have some seam splitting around the edges. The carpets are in very good condition since the high wear areas have been covered by rubber mats since it was new. The floor pans are solid and free of rust through. The trunk floor has no rust and the original sound deadening mat is still in place. The original Jack is there but not the spare tire or it's retaining hardware. The exterior is good for a 32 year old, central midwest car with mostly original paint. The only repainting I can find is the drivers side front corner where they apparently had a fender bender. The hood, fender and headlight extension have been replaced at some time and repainted the matching color. There is some difference in gloss that might be remedied by buffing and waxing. There are a couple of faint creases in each of the rear quarter panels where something in the original owners garage apparently contacted the body. There are some surface rust spots from chipped paint. The only rust through spots are: on the drivers side door at the front bottom corner, and inside the rear wheel well; on the passinger side rear wheel opening flare rear/top and on the inside lip at the bottom front and rear and the wheel tub lower rear. I'd say it's in better condition than 90% of the Nova's I've seen or any GM product of similar age that has not been redone. For those of you who live in Missouri, I live on Highway 63 about 1.8 miles North of the Hi. 22 junction. This is roughly 32 miles North of I-70 at Columbia. The car is for sale locally and is sitting in sight on the West side of 63 just south of Clark, Mo.. You are welcome to examine it or call me at 1-573-999-0088 for answers to your questions or to arrange a time to test drive it. This is a no reserve auction and I reserve the right to end the auction early should a suitable cash offer come along. I can deliver this car anywhere in the lower 48 states for $1.00 per loaded mile (one way). The mileage will be calculated according to Mapquest, quickest route.
