Up for your consideration is a classic 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 with all the bells and whistles that came on this car. If you are looking for a classic sports car or just a comfortable cruiser, then look no further, for you have found the answer to your search. I have lowered the starting price as I just want to sell this very nice car and move on to other pursuits, so my loss can be your gain. As usual I list the not so good parts first. This car has 238900 miles on the odometer. True, they were very well maintained miles with all the oil changes and routine care done in the proper manner and on the proper intervals, but nevertheless, this car is approaching 239K miles. I make this notice first so as not mislead anyone on the value of this car. The motor in this car does not knock, smoke or make other bad noises, but would greatly benefit from a bottom end rework of new crank bearings, caps and seals. The paint job looks good from ten feet away, but closer and you can see that this car could benefit from a new paint job. The active aero is problematic at best, since it works only when it wants to, and not when you tell it to activate. The switch for the ride control is broken and a replacement is $60.00 from several sources. The door cover on the drivers side has detached from the backing. It is not torn or mislaced, just appears to be wrinkled as you can see in the picture. An interior man told me it would cost around $100.00 to bring it back to new. The vents on the rear of the dash right next to the windshield have buckled over time due to being exposed to the hot Georgia sun on many trips. The car has always been garaged when not in use, but with almost 239K on the clock, that is a lot of exposure of the plastic to the hot Georgia sun! The lights on the climate control don't illuminate on one side. The climate control itself works fine, but it is not illuminated for night usage. A Mitsubishi mechanic says it is probably just a burned out bulb, but to replace said bulb is around $100.00 due to haveing to remove part of the climate control switch system. The wheels are cast aluminum and need polishing. Now for the good parts!! This car has the twin turbo 3.0 liter V-6 with a 5 speed manual transmission with all wheel steering and all wheel drive. All the power options on this car work. They include power windows, locks, mirrors, antenna, driver side seat, remote hatch and gas door release, power steering and brakes, cruise control, automatic climate control, and am-stereo/fm-stereo/cd/cassette system, This car has four wheel steering and all wheel drive. When you drive this vehicle it is like it is on rails!! The tires have about 85% of their tread left. The leather front seats look great with no holes, rips, tears, etc. The rear seats (yes, this car does have rear seats but the users of said rear seats should be on the short side) have never been used, thus the appearance of wrinkles in the pictures as the rear seats have always been folded down. The Turbo's are in good shape and the motor uses a quart of oil between changes. I bought this car from a CocaCola executive whom had put around 27K miles on it before his wife demanded he buy a car that she could drive. His loss was my gain and I have loved every minute I have driven this car. I have taken this car all over the United States and it has never let me down. It has been my dream car until about six months ago, when I was able to realize another lifelong dream, that of owning a Corvette. I purchased a 1996 Corvette with all the bells and whistles, and therefore the Mitsubishi has to go. My loss will be someones gain. With investments in repainting and rebuilding the bottom end of the motor in this car, you would have a real performance sports car that would last you for at least another twenty or more years.
