Vehicle Detail

1965 Lincoln Continental convertible                  THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, SO SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE!       I am selling my 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible. With only 3,356 of these ever made, these cars are becoming harder and harder to find and they only go up in value. This is the only post-war production 4-door convertible ever made! It is best known for it's suicide doors which creates a lot of buzz at the car shows and around town.       Famous examples of this car include the car JFK was assassinated in, the car in the opening sequence of the TV series "Entourage," and the car James Bond drove in Thunderball.  These cars were always the choice of kings and presidents.       The legendary 430 cubic-inch V8 is not only smooth and silent, but also very powerful, even with unleaded fuel straight from the pump. The engine runs nice and cool, even on hot California days. The engine and transmission seem to be original to the car.       This vehicle also includes a full power top that opens and closes flawlessly with one switch (including the latch!), power brakes, power steering, 3-speed automatic transmission, 3-way power front seats, power antenna, rear door ajar sensors, white wall tires, and original hubcaps.  The original AM radio, clock, and power door locks are still in the car but not presently working.       This excellent driver  is an older restoration finished in its original color of Heritage Burgundy with matching leather burgundy interior and a beige top. It has a paint job, redone leather interior, redone convertible top, and detailed engine compartment to finish it off. There is minor bubbling in some areas that will eventually need to be addressed, but the car looks great as it stands.       The vehicle has undergone a recent mechanical overhaul including a rebuilt transmission (engine does not need a rebuild), refinishing of all power convertible top parts, and replaced window and door switches. The oil, transmission, and brake fluids were recently changed as well and a mechanic  checked the car out and confirmed that it is safe and solid and even offered to purchase the car for himself!       The car does not come with the black california plates, but I think they look great and we can arrange a deal if you would like them with the car.       Thanks for looking and happy bidding!              Please contact Matt with any questions:       (818) 648-6559, Pacific Standard Time.           Shipping                  For those who wish to have the car sent by freight, I will be happy to assist the shipping company with scheduling, etc.                  Payment                I accept cashier's check, money order, or cash in person. The winning bidder must contact me within 48 hours of auction close. I require a $1000 deposit within 2 days of auction close, and full payment within 7 days.
