1969 Nissan (Datsun) Patrol L60 Softtop I bought this truck from E-Bay back in February. I saw it featured on the 'Bring a Trailer' website (http://bringatrailer.com/2011/01/24/1969-nissan-patrol-soft-top-4x4/) and had to bid on it. I won the auction. The truck was located close enough and I went and paid for it, drove it around the block to get a feel for it, then flatbed trucked it to my place. Plan for it was to restore it but the only person I would trust to restore it passed away unexpectedly short after I purchased the truck. So, the truck sat for months. It was stored to keep it away from the unusual wet season we had last spring. After considering my options, I have decided to sell this truck. So, back on the E-bay it goes. Below is the description by the previous owner. "Vehicle is in fair condition for being 42 years old. The exterior has some minor surface rust, but nothing that can not be fixed. Interior has a few tears and cracks but nothing major. The tires are in great condition with about 85% life on them. The engine (P40, straight-6, 4.0L) is in working condition. It starts easily and runs normally. A gasket and seal kit for the engine is included int eh sale. The parking brake needs minor adjustment but the brakes work fine. The vehicle has been in my possession for the last 7 years, most of which was spent in a garage. Before that it was a daily driver for the person I bought it from" "All major components of the vehicle are in working order and the vehicle is safely drivable. THIS VEHICLE IS ROAD READY!!!!" "This vehicle is EXTREMELY RARE! Only 975 soft tops were sold in the US. It's even more rare to find one in this good condition" I am posting the photos from the original auction taken by the previous owner in additions to the close-up photos I have taken to show the detailed condition of the vehicle. The car was as the previous owner described and it started fine with the help of its manual choke. It drove fine around the block. The mileage shown is too low to be actual miles. But it is shown and the odometer does work. +100,000? +200,000? I don't know. As of today, it shows 27624. The truck looks good at about 10 feet away. There are some issues which I tried to show with my own pictures. The truck will also come with following parts: - the soft top cover for the back. It is set up as the bikini top right now. The back-side cover is not really useable. The clear plastic parts have brown / black spots on it. There are some rips. It will be good as a pattern for a new one to be fabricated. - Gasket and seal kit for the engine. No the engine (head gasket) is not leaky. The previous owner bought it as a stash and passed it on to me. - Rubber seal for the doors. ... plus some other parts such as points, bulbs, misc. lenses for the lights etc... which came in a box. I didn't even go through them. What I have for this truck, you will get. To keep with the true spirit of the E-Bay, and all of my past auction items, I am starting this auction at $0.99 with NO RESERVE! The vehicle is to be picked up from its current location (Los Angeles) within 10 days of payment. Shipping of the vehicle, if needed, are to be made by the buyer within the same time frame. The vehicle shall not leave my possession until the funds are deposited and cleared by bank. If you are going to pick up this vehicle in person, don't expect to drive this vehicle home on highway. Although it drives fine, I have had very short driving time with this truck. From what I can tell, and have read, the gearing is not ideal for high-speed freeway driving. Also, this truck should be lubed, tightened and adjusted before it is put to daily driving task. Remember, it sat for 4 months with me as owner and 7 years before that.
