For your consideration is this 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop. It has been in the family since 1991.It is a true GTO equipped with a 389 C.I. engine with Rochester TRI-POWER carbs, a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission & a Positraction rearend with 4.11 gears.Power steering, Power brakes, AM radio with Reverb. & Underdash Instrument panel including Oil Pressure, Water Temperature & Amp Gauges complete the options. The odometer reads 38510 miles & was @22000 when the car was purchased in 1991.We are the 3rd owner; the car was built in Fremont California & has never left the state.Consequently there is no Rust on the car.The body is very straight, I believe all panels & chrome trim are original & although the car has been repainted it is the original color,"Charcoal Blue". The engine was rebuilt in 1993 using a year specific long block & the transmission and rearend are original.We have replaced the clutch,the tires & the mufflers with glass packs. The interior is all original & in outstanding condition.Please check the photos.The truck is also in great shape. Our GTO is not a concours vehicle by any means but it is an honest, mostly original, true GTO which could be restored to concours condition with less effort than most examples or it would make an outstanding "weekend warrior". It has not perforated the metal but will need to be addressed by the new owner.In addition I have discovered that the engine code for the rebuilt long block "YS" is for a '66 not a '65 389.
