SUPER RARE - THIS ORIGINAL (including original 42 year old paint) AND DOCUMENTED 1969 SST's = don't see '69's like this (most valuable year $ "Collector Car Price Guide") - 1 of a Kind!*RARE Factory A/C *"Deluxe" trim - see pics * Even the Top of the line AM/FM 8-Track (most AM-this was high-tech of the day lol)= Works Great*Not a car that has just sat for years and requires a lot of work to get running- "turn key" and ready to go. *Alabama car- some look great on top, but under-body is the "killer" and big bucks to fix if it EVER was driven in salt (this car NO ISSUES)* Power Steering (almost all 1968/69 are manual which are a bear to operate). *Rare Clock and very rare "Speed Control" (cruise control) 1969 JAVELIN SST UNMOLESTED ORIGINAL CONDITION First of all this upgraded Javelin ("SST" 290) was optioned out with the console "Shift Command", A/C, clock, vinyl roof (perfect condition - not bubble up or tears), cruise control (they called it "Speed Control"), and AM/FM 8-Track when purchased new in 1969. This was a one owner car-when purchased about seven years ago. This car is FULLY documented- and I mean the original owner literally detailed everything done to the car in a journal (included with car = see pics). I have the original purchase documentation-invoice, warranty card, manual, and all other original paperwork. Also have ALL the receipts of work that was performed. The car is an Alabama car- perfect metal no rust issues. Factory original #'s matching engine, transmission, etc. You simply do not see these cars in this factory original condition-(parts just aren't available like for Mustangs (about 1/12 as many made) which is why you see them so modified) the ones left are either salvage/junk level or modified "mod" rods ($3k-9k range). Condition: Mechanically: MUCH new was put into this car ($$$$$) to make it run just right. Car has been completely gone over. Has the original 290 #'s matching engine (currently new car/but have the original with the complete air filter cover and shroud EVERYTHING THERE) Car runs great- fast , smooth, and soft ride. Everything works as it should. The only things I can think of that don't function correctly are the clock and like on almost all old cars the A/C needs recharge. Everything else is great down to all the interior lights. The original carb has been replaced, but have original and all the parts to put back into original show condition. Underbody: AMAZING! No issues at all- the first thing you want to check on older cars is the under-body- frame rails/floor pans/etc = This can cost $10k+ easy. I know, it happened to me in my early collecting days. Being an Alabama car and a car that has been garaged throughout it's life (never seen snow) the under-body is rock solid with no issues. I took this car to a local high-end classic car restoration place and he thought I was nut trying to sell as I wouldn't find another one like it this old. Body: ROCK SOLID - NO ISSUES! Original paint (no repaints at all) with some nice luster left. It does have dings, but you know exactly what is there – no hidden surprises like when you buy a restoration job (absolutely ZERO body fill). Even the original vinyl top is like new- none of those typical bubbled up areas of rust from where water condensates. **ONLY ISSUE on this car** = The original owner did run into something in the right front (effected fiberglass piece that surrounds front light/everything functions perfectly), I have a exact OEM replacement piece. I would have had this fixed, but not sure if you want to do a complete paint job- estimate was for $1200 at classic car restoration place (have estimate-thought a little high, should be pretty easy for someone who has some ability) - I will take off $1200 from sale price for this (final price $13,700 -you pay $12,500) . Interior: AMAZING! Dash, door panels, console, and carpet (replaced NEW) are just about perfect. The front seats covers were redone, but vintage style to the car and perfect. The AM/FM stereo and 8-Track actually sound very good-even have an extra vintage box speaker from Radio Shack that original owner bought- high tech of the day (lol) -just adds to the retro look of the car. Overall: Quite simply 1969 Javelins in this original condition are not out there. This was a very cool designed pony car/fastback that you only seem to find in “junk” or heavily modded condition these days when they do turn up. Occasionally you see the “show car”, but those are not nearly as original or documented- part of the beauty and provenance of this car. The car does has some ding issues so you may want to repaint (which is why I didn't do the one fix- let you decide how far you want to go or color? - why I give the $1200 off allowance), but when you do you will have an amazing show car that will only go up in value. Last estimate on the car was 2004 at $17,000 Payment: I recently sold my 1980 Trans AM Y84 Bandit ($14000/see feedback) and what I have found works best is "bank wire" - I also will accept cashiers check and money order (obviously cash in person). Paypal's fees are too high = so no thanks on that. Shipping: This car is set up to drive anywhere so if you wanted to fly in and drive that would not be a problem (this is a get in and go car- needs nothing). I will also work with you if you want to set up a transport company, just let me know. I did that with the TA and there were no problems. Contact info: I am not a car sales person (stock broker), but have collected factory original classic muscle cars for the last 20+ years -if you have ANY questions please contact me at 262.751.3029 Ask for Sean. I would be happy to set up an in-person viewing if you are in the area. Thanks for looking Notice Original dash, console, and door trim panels ALL in mint condition. Carpet and front seats upholstery replaced, but like new. NIGHT VIEW Original AM/FM Stereo 8-Track works great! Original #'s matching 290 (new carb, but have the complete original with all the original pieces/airfilter cover/etc.). All original paperwork: invoice, warranty card, owner's manual, etc. Complete maintenance log book-original owner documented EVERYTHING done since original purchase. Includes all records and receipts. PLEASE CALL ME #262, 751.3029 *(Sean) with ANY questions. Car appraised for over $17k -too man extras to discuss, call for details. On May-24-11 at 07:17:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Scam Alert: The person that was advertising a 1968 SST - bottom of car needed total repair from what I was told - $12k+++++ rot from sitting (not this AL car). He is also I have been told being sought after on tax evasion- hope the person who paid $12k+ is good on all that for a non- A/C, bare bottom car with more likely 120k miles, etc, - Sucker born every minute I guess (and a lot of jerks selling cars). PLEASE do some homework in checking out cars is the message. I have taken this to top level classic car restoration places where you can get 3rd party references. This is not a perfect car, but one of the most original complete examples you will find with rare options making this a true 1/1 find.
