Vehicle Detail

1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme FWD Convertible, triple black, graphite leather trim, 56,700 miles. One of only 8,638 convertibles built in 1994; not sure how many of those came with the DOHC 24 valve high performance engine. This is the last Oldsmobile convertible body style, with production ending in 1995. Named one of the “Top 20 '90s Future Collector Cars.” by Hemmings Motor News magazine. This is the body style used by Oldsmobile for the 1988 Indy Pace Car. The Oldsmobile Division of GM was discontinued in 2004. There are several active GM W-body and X-engine fan clubs (Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, Chevy Lumina Z34…) for this car on the web and Facebook. The Twin Overhead Dual Cam 3.4L V6 motor ("X-code") has sequential port fuel injection, 4 valves per cylinder and makes 210 hp at 5200 rpm and 215 lb·ft of torque at 4000 rpm. This engine was originally designed for 275 HP right out of the box, but GM detuned it for fear of transmission warranty claims. You can easily wake this engine up further with a chip mod, split fire plugs and a K&N air filter. Typically the intake gasket deteriorates on these engines, but it was replaced in 2009 on this car. 17 city / 26 hwy. The suspension is factory original 4 wheel independent touring with a rear mono-fiber cross leaf (like the Corvette that year). Original factory stainless steel dual exhaust. I’m the 2nd owner of this car and I’ve had it since 1996. It is currently driven less than 1,000 miles each year to shows and in fair weather only. There is no rust. Since the car is always garaged, I honestly don’t know if the top leaks, but it doesn’t when I wash it. Since I planned on keeping the car, I’ve tried to leave it factory original as much as possible. The car is licensed and routinely passes ALL annual Pennsylvania state vehicle and emission tests. All service is current, including the oil changed less than 100 miles ago. The glass was etched for additional security. The battery was replaced in 2009. You can drive this car home or anywhere. As a 17 year old vehicle with original paint, it has a few swirl marks, scrtaches and door dings in the paint. There is a minor indentation in the top of the rear fender by the power antenna that I couldn’t get to show up in the pics. Some parts of the floor carpet and seat belts have faded a bit from the sun. It doesn’t jump out at you, but you can notice it if you’re looking for it. If you are concerned, I recommend looking at the vehicle before you buy it. This car is LOADED with Features: 4-Wheel Anti-lock Disc Brakes, 16” Aluminum Alloy Wheels, Rear Wing Spoiler with Aero Rocker Mouldings, Fog Lamps, AM/FM Cassette Stereo with Graphic Equilizer & Power Antenna, Drivers Side Air Bag, Automatic Climate Temperature Control (set it by degree) with Air Conditioning, Outside Temperature Indicator, 4 Speed Electronic Automatic Transmission with Overdrive, Trunk Pass Through, Rallye Analog Gauges Including Tachometer, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel with Touch Controls for the Radio and Climate Control, Power Drivers Seat, Dual Reclining Leather Front Bucket Seats with Built-in Lumbar Support, Rear Leather Bucket Seats (Oldsmobile called it a “Four Seater”), Front Floor Console with Storage Compartment & Cup Holder, Rear Floor Console with Storage Compartment & Cup Holders, Power Brakes, Power Rack & Pinion Steering, Automatic Power Door Locks, Power Windows with 4 Window “All-Down” Feature, Dual Power Sport Mirrors, Cruise Control, Dual Lighted Vanity Mirrors, Glass Rear Window with Rear Defroster (rare for a convertible), Remote Trunk Release, rare HUD (“Heads-Up” Display – projects driver information on the windshield), Automatic Front Safety Belts, 2 Key Fobs, PASS-key Anti-theft Package, Illuminated Entry with Exit Delay, Electric “one touch” Power Top with Full Headliner for Sound and Temperature Insulation, Factory Roll Bar with Integrated Rear Reading Lights, Matching Parade Boot with Storage Bag, Trunk Cargo Net, Tinted Glass, 4 Carpeted Floor Mats, Tilt Steering Wheel, Delay Wipers, Side Window Defoggers, Trip Odometer, Engine Oil Level Monitor, Day/Night Rearview Mirror with Dual Reading Lamps, Power Trunk Release with “Valet” Switch (to manually disable if the top is down). What doesn’t it have? One option… the engine block heater. Every other factory option available in 1994 is on this car. And everything works. Includes all owners manuals, aftermarket car BRA, aftermarket alarm system with auto start & 1 key fob. If the car sits for a long period (like 2 weeks), the remote start will run down the battery, so I installed a battery disconnect. I have a new, still in the box, GM “factory dealer install” theft alarm unit correct for the car if you are interested in buying it. The tires are Michelin Pilot XGT H4 P225/60R16 with about 4/32” of tread left at the wear bars. As with any 17 year old vehicle, there are a few parts starting to show some wear. To the best of my knowledge, they are: Ø The top is showing some minor wear and fraying around the back window where it folds, as its retracting into the trunk. I will include a replacement aftermarket top (still in the box) with the “Buy It Now” price. Ø The drivers seat has a 2” crack on the side by the power controls and some fraying on the left side lumbar support from getting in and out. Ø The elastic storage strap on the drivers side visor has stretched out. Ø The lightbulb on the HUD dimmer slider switch is burned out. Ø The clear plastic gear selector cover is getting cloudy in places, probably a reaction from some cleaner over the years. Ø The small right rear triangular side window rubber seal has broken loose from the glass and needs to be re-glued. Sometimes it slips off when the top goes up and down, and needs to be “popped back” into place. Ø The velcro along the top of the rear seating area has dry rotted, and no longer holds the parade boot down. Although you can still use the boot, if you decide to drive fast, the boot will flap around. I choose to just leave the boot off most days. Ø Typical for these cars is the deterioration of the left and right rear window seals. They are long discontinued by GM but you can interchange with the rear window rubber from a 1993-2002 Camaro or Firebird, which are similar. These come a little long, but you can cut them to fit, and you will have to re-drill holes in the weatherstrip for the pop rivets. (I have new OEM replacements that I’ve never installed. These can get $500 apiece on eBay. If you buy the car and don’t like the Camaro idea, we can talk) Ø The left front fender was hit in 2000, and so I chose to fix it with a new factory replacement, rather than use body filler and straighten out the old one. The damage was minor, but I wanted it to look nice. This one panel won’t have the ID sticker on it. At one time I had a Clarion 6-disk CD player mounted in the trunk, and disks could be loaded through the rear seat trunk pass-through door. The CD player decided to bite the dust, and so I’ve removed it. The mounting brackets and all wiring are still there, and the functioning remote is still in the storage nook on the dash. If you choose to upgrade the sound system with an aftermarket CD, it shouldn’t take much to install one. Additional pictures here: http://home.comcast.net/~cheeseheadz/site/ . Let me now if you need a picture of something. On May-28-11 at 09:15:20 PDT, seller added the following information: ... I forgot to mention, I do have the OEM front bumper license plate bracket which will come with the car. PA doesn't require a front plate so its not installed. Also some misc odds and ends for the car that are hanging around.
