Vehicle Detail

1968 Dodge Coronet 500 with clear title I first purchased this car in 1998 and did nothing with it. I sold it to a dear friend in 2009 and purchased it back March 2011. it was originally Turquoise Metallic with white vinyl top and white interior. 383 with a column shift automatic transmission. bucket seats and air conditioning. 8 3/4 rear axle with 741 case and 2.93 gear ratio. power steering with standard drum brakes and no sway bar. The Good: very clean body. Car was heavily undercoated. floors are very clean and solid with no holes or soft spots anywhere (including drivers floor). What you see in the pictures is just surface rust from washing it for photos. Again, the entire floor pan is very clean and solid and will need no rust repair Front and rear frame rails are solid including torsion bar mounts. trunk extensions are nice, clean and straight. nice rear deck Car has all exterior ornamentation including correct fender mounted turn signal indicators and drip rail molding (including splice covers and correct ends). Car has correct 500 taillights with good clear uncracked lenses and nice straight tail panel. 3 spoke wood grain wheel with horn switch. Beautiful 500 metal grille with no bends or damage straight clean headlight bezels Power Bulge Hood with trim. Car has all wiring including engine and light harness. Thumb wheel radio. Very nice 500 interior door badges. Very nice sun visors with belt clips, good bumper filler. very nice rear bumper with guards. Padded dash is without cracks or holes. has entire A/C-heater box with ducting. The Bad: No engine no transmission steering column, though functional for steering, is in need of rebuild Emergency brake only (front lines are damaged) dented drivers fender. Passenger fender has bondo at the nose. Drivers door is not original to the car and the window regulator and handle/lock mechanism are not functional you can see by the pictures it is not the best door. Passenger door is not original to the car but functions properly. bent trunk hinge. broken windshield, radio trim plate is broken. interior needs to be redone including headliner. Car has 70 Coronet front bucket seats. The Ugly: Power bulge hood has a dent at the very nose of the bulge and two bolts are broken off in the mounting holes Trunk center floor is rusted. Lower quarters are rusted. The drivers side has already been removed for repair and car comes with repair panels for both sides. Front bumper is pretty gnarly though the brackets seem to be OK (it was not a struggle to get on and the holes lined up nicely) The Missing: No fender tag. the Delta emblems for the vinyl top are gone. D O D G E lettering under rear panel missing. No lower switch panel (wiring is intact). No glove box lock, No drive shaft. no seat belts. no cross member. No rocker molding. no column shift linkage The Added: good used fuel tank with filler neck, rear quarter patch panels. 26" radiator. extra lettering and side marker lights. blue rear door panels, blue front door panels painted black The History: car was taken apart for body work by the owner before me. Many of the original parts were stolen off the car at that time many pieces are missing and the front clip is only half bolted on. the original Flat hood is available with the car as well. car will need a thorough restoration and a good source of body and frame fasteners and screws. Reserve is $1700 I have 50 + pictures of the car available to email upon request Feel free to contact me and I will provide a contact phone number. I would be happy to talk with you about the car. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. remaining balance due within 5 business days cash, pay-pal, bank wire transfer under certain conditions only. Payment options will be discussed with winning bidder Shipping to be handled by the buyer I do have a local to me company referral upon request
