Vehicle Detail
This is a 1973 Chevrolet camaro type LT. We are the 2nd owner of this car. We love this car to death but we are both students and have children ourselves so there is just no time or money to invest in this project, and we would like to see it go to someone who can give it the appreciation it deserves. My wife came into possession of this car about ten years ago. Her father replaced the original 350 engine (blown) with another 350 V8 from and 1973 Caprice. The automatic transmission of the car is original, however does not currently engage in reverse gear. The transmission has a very strong drive. The car has 50,178 miles on the odometer, which are actual to the vehicle (miles on the body, interior and tranny, since the motor is non-original).Car starts, idles revs and drives very well (minus the no-reverse). The body of the car is very clean and a great candidate for restoration in my opinion. The floor pan has little to no rust. There is some surface rust above the rear wheel wells and along the bottom edge of both doors, along with some rust by the drivers side headlight, and the headlight bezel is missing from that side as well. The interior is very clean. The black vinyl is in great shape, not faded or cracked. The dash is in great shape as well, not faded or cracked. The only flaws with the interior are that the center console cover is cracked and needs to be replaced, the instrument clusters themselves sag a bit behind the woodgrain panel (see pictures) and the dome light cover is missing. There also is no carpeting over the rear deck at this time. The original radio has been removed from the vehicle. This car has a vinyl top which is in exceptional condition, with absolutely no rips or tears. This car has the full chrome bumper in the front and in the back. The drivers side window glass has vertical scratches running fromt he top to the bottom, but none of the glass is cracked or chipped. The engine is missing the air cleaner box, but this doesnt affect performance or drivability. This vehicle does have factory air conditioning installed, but dies not currently blow cold air. I have tried my best to highlight all the flaws of this vehicle in my pictures. If you have any further questions or want additional pictures feel free to contact me. Buyer responsible for pick up in Wells, Minnesota. $1,000 Deposit required at end of auction. On May-22-11 at 20:38:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I should also disclose before the bidding gets any higher that the battery that is in this car is a very old marine battery and is on it's last legs, so I usually use a battery booster/charger when starting the car. Once the booster is attached this thing will usually start right up, perhaps with the aid of some carb cleaner down the carbeurator on occasion. I try to start this car on a regular basis just for good measure, and have been doing so over the past couple years, just to keep things from getting stale. Also, if you cannot tell from the pictures, the paint on the hood of the car is oxidized. along with lesser oxidation on the trunk lid. I am just throwing all this out there becasue I am trying to be as open and honest about this vehicle as possible. I want the winning bidder to. know exactly what they are getting. Thank you all for looking!
