1972 Volkswagen Super beetle Convertible Hello and Welcome to my auction. We are going to keep this very short and sweet . Before we go any further I ask you to check out my feedback and you will see that I have excellent feedback for one reason . You know your getting what is pictured and more . I am not a dealer but I go all over the state of California finding these rare gems and I walk away from more then I can count . I am not " getting rid of " the car or "dumping the car" . Just the oppisite I restore these cars from ground up or just the major mechical issues so these cars are not a headache for the next buyer and they fun . Now with that said please understand these little firecrackers have there own individual quriks from year to year which is what makes owning a Vintage Beetle so great. I make no warrenties of anykind and this is a "As Is" sale. Your bidding?buying a 40 year old car. Now to the car, this is a 1972 Super Beetle Convertible that was purchased from the 2nd owner and this was her 1st car and it had been parked in a barn the entire Decade of the 2000s or from 97 untill only a few months ago. I have checked all the major mechanical issues and the engine has high compression and runs great . I was told it was rebuilt in 1995 just before it was parked. I have changed all fluids and replaced all gaskets and boiled the carb. This is the BEST engine ever offered in a beetle the 50hp AE engine. I can sell just the engine for $1,800 , this is the dual port 1600 and not the lower horsepower single port. The tranny shifts nice and should be tip top , but I have not tore it apart to check any barrings. Clutch was replaced and is ready to be driven. The breaks have also been checked and replaced what was needed. The sterring and suspension was in very bad shape when I bought it , so I have replaced all the ball joints,tie rods,sterring box bring this back to how it should be. The interior is aging and could use new seat covers, the convertible top is new in the box and i will install the new top free of charge and replace and install the new sat covers and new door panels as long as the bidding goes over $4,500. I have offered this in the past and people seem to enjoy having a say in what color top is insatlled. ANYTHING other then BLACK OR WHITE!! will take much longer to order and install. I can have a black or white top installed in no more then 48 hours after auctions end as long as im paid in full prior to instalation. i dont waant to get stuck with a top color I wouldnt use . Of course if bidding doesnt meet $4500 you can insatll the top yourself and the material will be included but even one penny less then $4,500 and No labor is included. Ok back to the car, good tires,good glass,doors open and shut nice, horn works,lights work, seatbelts included,good clear open title with no back fees. The front bumper is included brand new as well as new door panels still in the box, could use new running boards, mirrior,odds and ends but very complete and a great daily driver quility car. I sold a beetle to a guy and he called me on Easter Sunday just to ask a question that was already answered and I found that extreamly rude so i am now making it clear that phone calls should be limmited to Monday-Friday 9am untill 9pm. Terms: My terms are very simple, no deposit but a phone call with in 1 hours of auctions end in mandatory unless you call prior to bidding and end of auction and work something out. Once we have made contact you have 72 hours to make final payment by Bank Certified Check or Bank wire transferr. I perfer Bank wire as it is much faster and we can get the top installed as soon as payment is made. If you fail to send payment by Bank wire . Please dont ask later why the top is taking longer, work will not start untill payment is made. This car is again being sold "as Is " and I don't know anything more then what was told to me and the work I personaly have done. Also I said in the ad as long as the bidding goes over $4,500 I would include and install new seat covers and I am not meaning $20.00 seat covers from Walmart . I am meaning exact replacement material in squareweave or basketweave in white or black just like the day it came out new. If the bidding doesn't reach $4,500.00 no seat material will be included or labor. I hope I have now cleared that up. Also I will be adding more pictures and video of the car so please check back. Ok, This car has been repainted receintly as in the last couple weeks and it is of daily driver quality . The only run I found on the car was the licence plate cover . There is no dents or dings and of course there is no rust in the body or bubbling . If you need clairfication on what a daily driver quality paint job is please email . Also I had a question , Can the car be driven on a trailer for transport? If I didn't make myself clear ,mechanically this car is sound and runs very well but I have not taken it on the interstate but again around town it ran good. Last question I have been getting , any rust in the floors? No there is no rust in the floors.
