Re-Listing to to non-paying bidder THE GOOD: This is a surviver cosmetically, virtually no blemishes or rashes, has factory owners manual,tire gauge,tool kit and new battery. I can not verify actual milage, as this bike is fitted with a 150mph speedo.The bike ran flawlessly when parked. It also had an updated stator insalled in the late 80s. THE BAD: I have owned this bike since 1987, rode it very little, and in the early 90's , kind of got away from it to raise a family. It was stored with Stabil in the fuel, but like most things it must not last forever! I was intending on selling and was pleasantly surprised when one in the same shape sold in Feb. item # http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-CX500-Turbo-/300527859906 . So I went and purchased a new battery ( included in sale ), And to my bad surprise there was rust in the gas tank, so I opted not to install battery for chance of rust getting into fuel pump and injectors. I know there are ways of chemically cleaning and sealing the tank internally, exterior is fine.A very reliable source reccomends a product called "Rust-I-Cide" to use in tank. It will also need brake work as neither front or rear will pump up, also tires due to age and probably fork seals. And some flat black paint is flaking off on exhaust.
