Firstly, I am not a car dealer, I am a private party seller. I purchased this vehicle from the grandson of a coworker of mine about 3 years ago. I used this car mainly to get back and forth to work, which was less than a 5 mile commute. I've retired recently and am relocating soon and have no need for an extra vehicle anymore. This Ford Tempo GL is being offered as a vehicle for repair as the windshield has a single 18" crack on the driver's side. It's about halfway up and starts on the driver's side edge and runs mostly horizontal across. The crack is stable as of now and didn't worsen even after this past extremely harsh Illinois winter we had. I tried to take a photo of the crack, but with the reflection off the glass it just didn't turn out. I'm sure you're aware though, that it is unlawful to drive any vehicle with a cracked or chipped windshield. Therefore, if someone buys this car, the windshield must be replaced. The car also needs a fuel pump. My trustworthy mechanic of many years diagnosed the problem. It will start but it only stays running for about 10 seconds. The engine is good and doesn't burn oil and the transmission is fine too. I was also informed that it will eventually need the harmonic balancer replaced and will need some minor brake work. The body is in really nice condition with only one very small rust spot worth mentioning. There are some scratches and some edge scraping on the rear bumper as shown in the photo. There is a crack on the front bumper cover as shown in the photo. There is a small dent on the left front 1/4 panel. The trunk lid and the roof have some paint fading. The carpeting is soiled and needs a good steam cleaning or shampooing. Ther seats are in very nice condition. The headliner is tattered and is more or less "shot". The previous owner removed the stock Ford AM/FM/tape in-dash radio. I never bothered having it reinstalled. It does come with the vehicle and is complete with the bracket and wiring, as shown in the one photo. This car could economically be put back on the road and I truly believe it would provide the owner with basic, dependable transportation for quite some time. Vehicle is parked on a residential street and is easily accessible for towing/hauling. It is in the City of Kankakee, Illinois which is approx. 60 miles south of Chicago right off Interstate 57.
