Vehicle Detail
I purchased from 2nd owner on 10/06/2004 mileage 22500. The condition was good and was in his private museum for several years. Since then I have done the following: Rebuilt ; Carbs-Forks-Cooling system w/metal pump. Replaced; Timing belts-tires&tubes-Fuel Pump w/electric. Have added Driving Lights and Air Horns to serve as effective anti collision equipment.I have ridden the bike about 1500 miles/yr on mostly secondary roads alone. My reason for selling is I am soon to be 81 years old. This motorcycle has always had lots of TLC. Included with it are Honda and Clymer Shop/Repair manuals, print out of Cycle Shack web site( Restorer/rebuilder of GL1000 GW's). Also a parts manual and other documentation. In 1976 Honda sold and delivered a "Naked" Goldwing for the Sport Bike market. This bike was converted by the dealer to a Touring Bike by replacing the seat ; adding the Windjammer III fairing w/radio and the Molded saddle bags/boxes. By 1980 Homda sold Goldwings only as touring bikes. I have the installation/operators manuals for the fairing and the radio. The photos show the elec. fuel pump;air horns and air pump installation in right side of fairing; Driving light switches in left side of fairing. There is also a switch for head light so rider can select any 2 of three head/driving lights. All three may overload electrical system. In addition the backrest/sissy bar can be adjusted to serve as either. The Throttle and Clutch cables and the Run/Stop/Starter switches and harness have also been replaced. On May-18-11 at 06:29:42 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION: ERROR of OMISSION CORRECTION In the original listihg I failed to point out that the Generator Bolt Cap is stuck in place. The hex head on the soft metal cap is rounded off. This problem existed when I first acquired the bike. I will include a replacement cap. I have been checking ignition timing and valve clearence by usin the kick start lever as a work-around. This worked so well I forgot about the problem. Very sorry.
