I wish the situation were different, but my wifes illness forces the sale of one of my prized possesions, a 1989 635CSi FACTORY 5speed with black exterior and black leather interior. This is one of 61 manual cars produced in 1989, and probably the nicest one you will ever see for sale. It is a gorgeous car, runs and handles like a brand new one. It does have 188k miles on it, but you would never know it. I have a stack of service records going back 20 years, and its been meticulously maintained during its life. As you can see by the pictures, the car shows as well as it runs. I will post a video shortly on youtube of the car running, and a short drive. I have prepared the car for its next owner by replacing the shocks/struts with brand new Bilsteins (records included of course), brand new "dogbones" in the rear, new brake pads, and its normal regular service (over 1800 dollars in preparation alone). I didnt have it detalied because frankly it dosent need it, its a darn clean car. Tires are at least 60% life left, and have factory BBS RS in great shape as well. The car even has its rechargable flashlight in the dash, all its tools in the tool compartment, and an EXTREMELY rare and expensive option for '89, a dealer installed factory Disc changer that still works fine. The orig manual is there, as is the original radio code card (see photos). Please be aware that this car is a FACTORY 5 speed, as verified by its vin elsewhere in these forums. There are a couple of points of attention to make the car perfect, I will divulge them all in the interest of being totally fair. The passenger side mirror is cracked (see pics), the front spoiler could use a respray to present nicer (also in pics, just normal stone damage). Also, the computer flashes the SRS idiot light, but it goes out most of the time.... I assume its a relay to the rudimentary airbags this car has. Probably cleaning the terminals will solve the problem, but I hate messing with airbags for obvious reasons. The AC could use a recharge as well, but the blower works fine. Everything else functions perfectly.... the seats (drivers motor and switches were recently replaced) work great, antenna works great, sunroof is flawless and leakless, radio works great but dosent sound up to todays standards in my opinion haha, you name it it works. No idiot lights, no check engine lights, odometer works perfectly, all gauges work flawlessly, delay wipers work fine... you name it. To give you an idea how this car is babied, it is still running on its original clutch, and it feels like BRAND NEW. The same service people worked on the car for the last 15 years, and every time its in the shop it gets compliments and plenty of ooglers. There are no dash cracks in the front or rear, and the interior literally looks like it did from the showroom...it even has the orig mats! There are no nasty surprises with this car Like I said its killing me to get rid of this car, but family comes first.
