Vehicle Detail
*I am relisting my excellent condition 1986 CR 500 after ebay removed my last auction, mistakenly sighting to me "keyword violations". After spending 45 minutes on the phone with tech support, they agreed that their 'auto system' had made a mistake. Annoying for me, but whatever.* So, here is the relist of the same item. Please read carefully and look at all the pictures. This is a long description, but I try to be as clear and concise as possible, so you know what you are getting. I am selling my near mint 1986 Honda CR500 motocross works replica / off road dirt bike. This bike has low hours on it, and as you can see from the photos, is in very good condition. I bought this because David Bailey and Ricky Johnson were my heros, and I always loved the 1986 production / factory works HRC bikes of that era. It was a special time for Motocross. I bought this bike just because the thing looks cool and I wanted it for my garage. The previous owner was the original buyer and said he rode it about once a year at Thanksgiving with his family and on camping trips. It has always been a California bike and has likely never been ridden in the mud or nasty terrain. The previous owner babied it, as have I. I have a clean California title for this bike. I rode it just a handful of times and had NO issues at all, and it runs really good. Jetting is spot on and clear. She is fast as heck! Here are some more details: · Period correct Renthal bars · FMF unpainted pipe (super trick and factory looking!) · Boyesen Rad-Valve · Factory racing ignition works style cover · Tires and sprockets are near mint · Bike literally needs nothing. Ready to go. · Have an extra spark arrestor (not shown) · All it takes is to add a big ‘ol N-Style #5 or #6 placed on the plates, and it would be an awesome tribute bike to the factory HRC bikes of RJ and Bailey. · Original stock OEM plastic is in great shape, no major breaks, tears or other issues. Otherwise the bike is mostly stock. Includes a new air filter as well! The Frame is good. Just normal rub marks. NO dents or welds. 100% stock with normal boot skuffs on the side. Thats it. Swingarm is near mint, some light scuffs, one small scratch, but nothing major. The marks are pretty much not visible and appear on the bottom of it. They certainly didnt bother me, and i never even noticed them until i got a real specific questions about the swing arm. The rear rim is mint. The front rim has a real small dent in it on the right side (kickstart), but its nothing you really notice when riding. At least I dont notice it! And its hard to tell or see when the bike is sitting on a stand. This bike is a true survivor and a really cool machine. Just the “CR” on the seat and the unpainted pipe is harkens to the good ‘ole days long gone from 1986 87 and 88. I got hammered on my taxes this year, so I am (sadly) selling some of the toys to raise some cash. You rarely see a 500 of this age in this good of condition. Feel free to email me any questions. PLEASE NOTE: I have the bike advertised locally, and am open to local and national purchase. I would list an actual buy it now price, but the last few times I did this, some silly Nigerian scammers based out of the UK hit the button and tried to scam me, which was annoying and a waste of my time. Email me for more information. Shipping: I have a clean and clear title, so that makes things easy, especially if you are an international buyer. The buyer pays shipping costs, full stop. I will help out however I can. I have worked with a few freight companies and am happy to assist with putting this bike on a pallet and delivery to a freight terminal. If you want a phone number for a shipping company, don’t hesitate to ask me, as I have contacts for both domestic and International shipping. Cross country shipping is not really that expensive, all things considered. Just let me know how I can assist. Thats about all. The bike is otherwise real clean and nice looking. It is 25 years old though!!!
