Vehicle Detail
This is a 1979 Ford F150. It's got a 302 V8; C4 automatic transmission; power steering; and power brakes. The paint and interior are original. The seat is showing it's age and starting to wear through. The dash pad is fine, no cracks. The carpet has some stains, most would come out with some resolve cleaner. It's got some rust at the rear window you can see it in the photos. It's also got some rust around the rear wheel wells and bed corners. The patch panels to repair the bed are from LMC truck and they'll go with the sale. The body is in good shape, it's got some dings but no major dents, there's small surface rust spots here and there. The tail gate has a dent in the top of it, it's minor. It's above the letter D, look close. The master cylinder is about two years old, I also replaced the rear hard brake line, both rear wheel brake cylinders, the shoes and the drums, these parts were replaced with the master cylinder. The motor has new plugs and wires along with the distibutor cap and rotor. Front disc brake calipers and the grease seals for the rotors will also go with the sale, I purchased these at the local parts store. The tires and wheels are off a 1997 F150 4X4, the rims are pitted, I got them second hand out of a barn. The left rear tire/rim has a slow leak, it's probably the bead leaking, I check the air periodically in the tires and add it as needed. Some fix a flat would probably solve it. I'm not the original owner; I've had the truck about two years, I use it for running to the home improvement store and generally what a person would use a truck for. I haven't driven it in the winter, it's parked in my second garage for the winter. I start it every couple of months while it's parked, 4 pumps of the gas pedal and it starts up every time. The motor does not burn any oil, and it does not smoke when it starts up. It does leave small oil spots in the driveway. The engine needs new gaskets to fix the oil seepage. I had the transmission rebuilt by a local transmission shop shortly after I got the truck. They also installed a shift kit to firm up the shifts and replaced everything that needed replacing, along with the u joints while they had the drive shaft pulled. I had it rebuilt because it was pumping fluid out of the vent in third gear when I got the truck. The transmission is fine now, shifts great. LMC Truck sells everything needed to restore this truck, it would be a great project. Everything works, lights, horn, turn signals, wipers, wiper pump. The radio is the original AM and it has a FM converter that was already installed when I got the truck. I have the original hub caps, and a couple of mounted tires for spares, they'll go with the truck too. It's worn, but the original mounted spare tire will go with the truck too. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. A $500.00 deposit is due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auctions end. The balance is due in cash when you pick up the truck within 7 days, unless prior arrangements are made. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for looking. I forgot to add, the heater core and thermostat have also been replaced. The engine runs very smooth, no skips or misses.
