Vehicle Detail
Here is a Series III Jag XJ6 sedan. I have owned it for 8 years and have done lots of work to it. It had a prior salvage title when I bought it and had been restored at an auto body shop after having been in a severe wind storm. It had body work, front windshield replaced and was repainted. When I got it, I drove it for a couple of years and then completely rebuilt the engine and cylinder head at 136000 mi. It has had the injectors cleaned, new radiator, alternator, hoses, and belts. The transmission mounts and steering rack bushings were replaced. The left stub axle seal and bearings were replaced on the left side but I didn't do the right side and now it is leaking. One of the four shock absorbers in back is leaking as well. It has had new ball joints and front wheel bearings. It has a stainless steel exhaust system. The transmission has been serviced regularly. It has a new GM air conditioning compressor, hoses and expansion valve having been converted to R-134A. The interior is in good shape with leather seats in back and the front seats were recovered in vinyl matching color. The driver's seat shows some wear. (see photo). All the door seals and trim was replaced. The dash has lost most of its clear coat and is down to the wood in most places. I have a used replacement dash and glove box that could be refinished and installed. All the gauges work. The power windows work. The driver's power seat works. The electric locks don't. The cruise control doesn't work. The power antenna is stuck half-way up, however, I have a new replacement for it. The exterior is showing quite a bit of oxidation in the paint, especially on the top surfaces. It may be possible to buff it out. There is some rust starting on the right rear wheel arch and at the bottom of the rear windshield. (see photos). The tires are about 60% and are 225/70R15's which I put on because they are the biggest that fit in the wheel wells and give me more ground clearance. I have been running on historic plates since last year so haven't put many miles on it lately. After rebuilding the engine, it was my daily driver for several years. Mechanically it is very sound, the exterior could use some attention. I lost my garage space for it so would like to have someone buy it who could bring it back to its former cosmetic glory as well. It is a comfortable, smooth driving car that has some power to get down the road quickly if need be and I enjoyed driving it. I will require $200 down by Paypal within 48hrs of purchase. The remainder will be due upon arriving to get it. The car will be picked up as is where is. I will not deliver it. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for looking and bidding!!
