Vehicle Detail

Just in time for the spring and summer driving season is a 1929 Ford Model A chassis and running gear. For sale is my "Hillbilly Rig". It is NOT a show car. This used vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. It is not a perfect vehicle, but it sure is fun to drive. It will be sold on a bill-of-sale with no title, because it has not been titled since it was put together, and has not been licensed. This 1929 Ford Model A chassis and running gear has a homemade wooden bed and cab put on the frame. The rear fenders are genuine Model A. It does have the cowl, hood, radiator, and shell of a 1930 Model A. It has an original steering column, steering wheel, spark advance and throttle. It has no front fenders, no running boards, no splash shields, no step plates, no odometer, no speedometer, or bumpers. I bought it from a friend and have driven it around the neighborhood all last summer and fall (2010), showing it off to my friends. I have even driven it to church on several Sundays. It is fun to drive and show off. Everybody loves it, old, teenage, and especially the young. It is quite the conversation piece. It has been converted to a 12 volt system with a new (6-25-2010) one-wire alternator. Battery in the picture is not included. It has an OOGAH horn and a hand squeezer as well. They both work great. This is what I know about this vehicle. The engine was completely rebuilt including new rings, new timing gear, new distributor, new spark plugs and wires, and valves ground. My Model A book shows that the motor was assembled in May 1929. It has a new muffler and exhaust. The two tires on the back are new military jeep type. There is one extra tire (no wheel) that goes with it. Headlights, tail lights, and brake light works great. It even has the blue dot. The wheels are 1934 – 1936 16”. The hubcaps are new. Gas tank is gravity flow Firestone aluminum keg, because original tank has rust in it. The rear end has new seals. The brake shoes are new front and back. The transmission shifts great, clutch does not slip. Steering has about the usual play for a Model A. It has one rear view mirror. I have run this Model A down the highway at 40 mph (my wife was following). The shimmy shock on the front really helps stabilize the steering when running down the highway. The instrument cluster has old original gas gauge, ignition switch, volt-meter, and a Marine Corps sticker for added value. Choke is functional and original. The man I got this from was going to use this restored chassis and running gear to build a really slick Model A show-car but could not find a body to suit him. This vehicle has great potential for restoration. All bodies fit the same chassis. This would be great to complete your Model A or to enjoy as is. This is a cash transaction and the buyer is responsible for pick-up and or shipping. Payment must be received within seven (7) days of close of auction. Questions??
