1959 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 283/270 PROJECT CAR Offered at no reserve is a 1959 Corvette needing a full restoration. A Texas car, this car last saw the road in the 1970's. It has 79608 indicated miles. The Corvette was purchased by a father & son in 1980 with plans to restore the car together. Sadly, this father & son project stalled early and the 'vette never got far. In fact, the seat covers and convertible top was purchased by them from Al Knoch Interiors in 1981 (they are shown in the pictures), but the good news is that the car was stored properly inside the garage for thirty years. And additional good news is that this precious piece of Corvette history is now available for someone who DOES have the wherewithall to finish this very deserving project. Originally a frost blue car with white coves, blue interior... however because Chevrolet didn't use paint codes that far back, you can go with the color of your choice. The engine appears to be correct. The engine does not start but it does turn. Here are some numbers for your reference. VIN# J59S107111, Engine Stamping Plate# F306CU, Distributor # 1110891 71 20, Intake # 3739653, Cylinder Heads# 3748770, Engine Casting# 3737739, and (2) Carter Carbureters. We have gone through all the parts and have found the driveshaft missing and one (of four) seat cushions missing. It does have tires and wheels so it will easily roll onto a trailer or into a transport carrier, but the correct wheels and tires are available...and available very affordably from Coker Tire. The wheelcovers are gone but are often on eBay (1959-62 works) and are usually priced based on condition. The chassis is in good condition. The father and son stripped off all the bumpers and trim, but they all seem to be there and also seem to be in good condition. The shifter, transmission, linkage, etc. is all there. It was a 3-speed car. It also has its original steering wheel, all gauges, wonderbar radio. It has its original door panels, but they will likely need to be redone or replaced. It will need fiberglass work as the pictures show. It is a soft top only car. It has a clean clear Texas title. The Corvette is located in beautiful Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. It can be shown by appointment. If you have any questions about the car, please call Jeff (501) 318-8752 or Scott (501) 520-8726. All e-mail questions will be answered, but we really do prefer to answer questions by phone. Winning bidder can send up to $500 by paypal, and the balance by bank wire, cashiers check, or cash in person. The $500 paypal money up front is up to you, but FULL payment is due within 72 hours of the end of the auction. This 1959 Corvette is being sold in AS-IS condition. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself as to the condition. Thank you for viewing my 1959 Corvette. Best of luck bidding. Have a splendid day! SPECIAL NOTE: I took 24 pictures of this '59 'vette and only 11 showed up. So tomorrow, I will do my best to add what didn't take. I had numerous shots of the front, side, the air cleaner, the tooth grille (which is superb), etc. Again... I will do my very best to take those shots again tomorrow and add them. Thank you.
