Vehicle Detail
1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16 Photo Gallery Here Well folks, not many left of these machines. I've had my fair share of them and know them well. I purchased this earlier in the year as a project and have since had circumstances requiring me to sell. It was owned by a Peugeot Mechanic, then sold to the gentlemen I bought it from. He let it sit for 6-8 months after taking on two old Ford projects. When I got there we jump started it and it idled smoothe and strong so I was sold. I then drove 3 hours home with no problems other than a strong pull to the right (needs alignment). It has the original Radio and Peugeot Security Code Card, along with all recent paperwork from Repairs I did (total over $3000) but the last owner misplaced past history. Recent work includes: Timing Belt Water Pump Engine Mount Spark Plugs Valve Cover Gasket Catalytic Converter and Muffler Transmission Fluid and Oil Change Thermostat Thermostat Housing Air Intake Boot Custom Peugeot Sport Floor Mats Seat Motor Battery More... The car runs like it was just tuned to a top, and passed smog with flying colors - has a clean title with registration paid till February 2012 What it needs to be come a true Gem like one of these, check out this photo album: Peugeot 405 Mi16 Paint Alignment Shift Knob and Steering Wheel Driver's seat seam came undone - needs to be resewed up but no tears in leather itself. Known Issues: Cruise Control - one of the wires is missing so it doesn't engage, but the column on the wheel functions as does the button. Clock display is funky looking - some of the little lights don't work. The driver door panels lower sections is cracked, in the photo I have it placed in there but it should be glued or held together in some way. The sunroof motor does not engage - may be a fuse but I haven't found a fuse diagram. Windows switches work intermittently, when they engage the windows go up and down fine but they take a few times to work. Due to the last owner's mistake, he did not fill out the mileage on the title so it carried through on to my title. The speedometer works and it does not have the distinction (Not Actual Mileage) it is just blank. Based on the way the car drives and engine runs, and the body, I am confident it is true mileage but I don't want there to be any surprises about paperwork. So you can either paint it cheap and have an awesome and rare car or really put some more money into it. These cars deserved to be cared for and enjoyed, and I hope the new owner does just that. This was the 1988 European car of the Year, and in 1991 they made major improvements to the gearbox and some styling adjustments. I think you'll be quite satisfied, please email me with any more specific questions. Bonjour.
