Up for auction is a SUPER SOLID 1957 Chevrolet FACTORY Bel Air FACTORY V-8 project car with a ton of original parts. The car is super solid and needed amazingly few metal repairs which have already been completed. I was amazed to find that this car retains an original and incredibly rare California frame. The car is in the perfect condition to be taken in whichever direction you prefer. I purchased it to restore, but due to time constraints and too many other projects waiting on me, I just can’t get around to it. I have restored many classic cars over the years and have had at least 15 or so tri-five Chevrolets and have never seen one this solid and ready for restoration. I believe that the 1957 Bel Air two door hard top is the most iconic American Classic car in automobile history. Whether you want to restore this car to the original factory stock condition or go all out and make this a ProStreet or ProTouring, you are starting out with a solid body and a perfect foundation for your build. I just couldn’t pass up getting my hands on this car and getting it back on the road, but since it isn’t possible for me, I’m passing on the opportunity to the lucky highest bidder. I feel this is the only way to fully disclose the true condition of the car and the many various parts included with this auction. BODY: As previously stated this car is EXTREMELY SOLID. 90% of the body work on this car has been done and it only needs the last little bit for the car to be put into the final paint. The Southern climate has really preserved this car. This car did not have any hard to fix rust issues that most tri-five Chevrolets have. The current yellow paint job is not intended to be the final paint, but has been applied to seal this car from rust until restoration is completed. The firewall and cowl panel are extremely solid. Around the front and back glass the metal is extremely solid with no rust or repair. The A pillars and door jambs are extremely solid. There is no rust or repair in the roof panel or structure. The front fenders, hood, inner and outer rockers, weather strip lip, deck lid, taillight panel, floors and trunk, doors and door skins, core support, inner fender wells, front and rear bumper are all extremely solid. There were a few rust damaged areas in the front floor pans, but this has already been repaired with quality replacement panels. The passenger side lower quarter and the driver's side lower rear quarter panel have also been repaired with replacement panels. The rear wheel wells have been extended out 1 1/2" to make space for bigger wheels for the ProTouring look, but if so desired this can be easily returned to the original dimensions. Also the spare tire well has been removed from the trunk and has been covered with a custom spare tire delete panel. This modification can be easily changed back, and this auction does include a super solid, undamaged and rust free spare wheel well. The dash in this car is super solid and unmodified. There has been no cutting to add an aftermarket radio and no rust damage rotting away the dash. The dash is in factory original condition and included in this auction is 2 original gauge clusters, an original Bel Air clock and an original heater control panel. The trunk pan, the trunk extensions and dropoffs, and the inner and outer wheel well houses are all super solid. The decklid filler panel and cowl panel are extremely solid. The hood on this car in amazing condition and has no through rust and the hood structure is extremely solid. Also included is a brand new set of hood rockets and trim. I have the original front and rear bumper. They are in good original condition with no major damage and only minor surface rust. These bumpers could be easily rechromed back to the original showroom shine. FRAME: The frame is an original California frame which is one piece and seamless. The frame has been sandblasted and painted with POR 15. The frame is straight and true and there is no through rust or damage. It still retains all the original suspension components with an original rear end, this frame has not been modified. I do have a new Energy Suspension body bushing kit that comes with the car (as pictured). TRIM: The trim with this car is in amazing condition, all of it is in good driver quality reusable condition or could be polished up for show. I have every piece of trim and a few duplicate pieces. I have the hard to find door/window flappers that are in excellent original condition. With the exception of the headliner bows I believe I have all of the original interior trim. The original sidetrim with the Bel Air inserts are included and in excellent condition. I have the original window trim, window frames and window regulators. See photo bucket link for pictures of what is included with this car. Nothing fits and looks like original chrome, this is not aftermarket chrome that may or may not fit and look original. DRIVE TRAIN: Please note that the motor and transmission are not included in this auction. This car will be sold as a roller, but rolls and steers easily for transport purposes. WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels and tires pictured are not included in this auction. A pair of roller wheels will be installed for transport purposes. The car rolls and steers very easily and shouldn't be a problem loading for transport. MISCELLANEOUS: Included in this auction are the original window regulators, door latch mechanisms, and heater components. I do have the original back seat springs and frame. A brand new aluminum radiator is included with this auction. The car is going to need a few things to finish out the project. TITLE INFORMATION: The state of Georgia is a non-title state, which means vehicles that are older 1986 do not require a title in the state of Georgia. Vehicles from before 1960 did not ever have a title in Georgia. I will provide proper documentation including a T-7 Georgia bill of sale for this vehicle, Georgia VIN verification letter from the sherriff in our city and a letter that explains the non-title information. With the information I provide, your state will recognize Georgia's non-title status and issue you a title.
