Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1981 Chevy Camaro. This is a very nice car, both in and out! It’s the perfect car to go cruising in style, or to pull into your local car show and be proud ! No matter what you do with it, you'll certainly be noticed and get all the thumbs-up from the car guys. The car cruises very nice down the road or highway, looks beautiful, and sounds tough at the stop light or coming down the road. It is by no means a racecar, but a perfect street cruiser. Check out all the detailed pictures below. No trick photography or special lighting to make the car look better than it is. Just honest photos taken in my driveway. The car really is a beautiful, straight, detailed ride. This car has been listed before. Please do not bid unless you are certain you are prepared to complete the transaction. The no shows are starting to get old. The car is obviously available for inspection before the auction ends. I encourage it and if you can't make it third party inspections are welcome. Contact me to set something up. Body & Paint Car has a nice paint job that is just a little over 3 years old. It is a PPG base/clear coat paint job. The stripes are painted and under the clear. There are no bubbles, dents, or bad blemishes. Each rocker panel has a run in the clear coat under the rear door jamb corner. Not noticeable unless you're down there. Being a few years old, there are a few rock chips and a couple light scratches, but they are minor. Overall it's a very nice and straight paint job. Just take a look at the pictures, and I think you’ll be impressed. There currently are no rust issues with the car. Before paint, it had one rocker panel replaced and the other rocker had a section replaced. The driver side rear quarter panel was replaced. There were a couple bad spots in the floor that were cut out and a patch welded in. Mainly the passenger side toe board. The lower rear tail pan under the bumper was also worked on. Any problem areas were replaced with new steel, not bondo! Frame rails, trunk, etc. are all nice and solid. Car has frame ties that are bolted on. All window and t-top trim has been blacked out. I rebuilt the door hinges. The windshield is new. Car has a steel cowl hood. Very nice tail lights that are hard to find in good shape. Z28 fender flares, spoilers, fender vents, and emblems were added. Suspension, Brakes, & Wheels I stripped down and detailed the front subframe and suspension. Front suspension was all gone through and rebuilt. I used all stock type replacements except for the coil springs. Those are Moog 5608 which dropped the front end just a little. Body/subframe bushings are polyurethane. The rear suspension is all original other than new shocks. Brakes were all gone through. New steel lines up front and to the rear axle. New rotors, bearings, pads, hoses, rebuilt master cyl, rebuilt calipers, etc. Wheels were media blasted and refinished. They have new trim rings, center caps, and lug nuts. Tires are brand new B.F. Goodrich Radial TA’s. 255/60r15 in the rear and 235/60r15 up front. Interior Whole interior has been gone through. I refurbished the dash and gauge bezel. Seats have new upholstery and seat buns. Door panels, carpet, and some of the t-top trim is new. Window felts are new and the weather stripping is in good shape. The headliner was recovered. All gauges are working. The original clock was removed and an oil pressure gauge put in its place. There’s a modern CD radio installed. Engine - Drivetrain - Exhaust The engine is a 350. I was told by the previous owner that it had been rebuilt. I tore it down to the short block, and all looked good. I used the short block as is, and added all of the following new parts… GM Performance Vortec Heads (milled .045" to bump up compression a little) Edelbrock RPM Vortec intake Edelbrock 600cfm carb (manual choke) Elgin cam 224/234 @.50, 465/488 lift, 112lc Howards lifters, pushrods, valve springs GM self aligning rockers Pertronix Flame Thrower HEI distributor Water pump Aluminum radiator Chrome 100 amp alternator Chrome fuel pump Chrome pulleys, valve covers, etc. Everything is new except for the short block. Compression is calculated to be about 9.8 to 1. Engine runs great. No leaks. It has less than 40 miles on it since I've gone through it! Transmission is a th350 with a 2000-2200 stall converter. Rear end is a 10 bolt posi with 3:42 gears. New Ceramic headers into Pypes Performance 2.5” stainless steel x-pipe exhaust. Flowmaster mufflers dumped at the rear axle. Car is set up nice for a street cruiser. Known Issues Car does not have a heater or AC. No modifications were made to the car to prevent a heater or ac from being added. No parking brake cables installed. Passenger side door key doesn't work. Have to lock/unlock from inside the car. The wiper motor has been fixed May 2nd, so the car now has working wipers! Payment & Terms A $300 non-refundable deposit is due within 24hrs through Paypal. Balance of your winning bid is due within 10 days from auction end in form of cash, bank wire transfer, or a certified bank check / money order. Car will not be released until my bank confirms that the payment has cleared. Buyer is responsible for picking up car or having it shipped. I can store the car for up to 30 days as long as full payment has been received. Car is sold as is, with no warranties expressed or implied. No refunds of any kind. Clear Ohio title is in hand. Actual mileage is not known due to the speedometer being replaced in the past. Mileage stated in auction specs is what the current reading is. Please feel free to email with any questions or to set up an inspection. All photos and the video were taken on 2-18-11. What you see is what you get!
