History: Ford put a lot of thoughts into the 1969 Mustang. The Mustang was appreciably redesigned, but it was still unadulterated Mustang. It was longer, lower, more aggressive and sleeker style. Every element increased with the exception of wheel base, which remained at 108 inches. All Mustangs were lowered 0.5 inch on the suspension and the windshield rake was increased by 2.2 degrees. This translated to about a 150-175 pound weight increase, depending on the model. There were plenty of Mustang models to choose from in 1969. Besides the base Mustang, there was the new Grande, which was a more upscale 2dr hardtop. The Convertible models were always one of their top sellers. 1969 was also a year of firsts for the Mustangs. Besides the exterior mirrors, which were widely copied by other manufacturers, it was the first year for intermittent windshield wipers and radial tires for the Mustang. Both were optional, of course. 1969 was a high point for the Mustang- no doubt; it was the best one yet. Exterior: The biggest visual change was the front grille opening. Larger and decidedly more aggressive it was the only year in Mustang's history that four headlights were used. This Ford Mustang Convertible is Hot Red with a Clean Black Vinyl Top. The Top frame is straight and the vinyl has no rips. The body is solid with no visible rust. The paint is ok and was paint a few years back. It does show wear and tear. There are paint chip area on the hood and edges of the hood. There are also small lines of paint crack near the quarter panel and hood….also paint chip below the gas lid emblem. Interior and Electrical: The interior is BRAND NEW. NOT the inexpensive seat covers…We had the two front and rear seats reupholstered in original black grain vinyl! We had brand new carpet laid down and the front dash covered also in original black. All electrical works from the headlight, high beam, turn signal, brake lights, reverse lights, interior lights and even the steering wheel HORN! Engine: For those desire high mpg, this Convertible is for you. It has a straight six cylinder engine 200. Designed for economy the three speed lets you cruise and not worry too much about the high gas prices. The engine was rebuilt with a rebuilt carburetor back about a few years ago and runs strong. It starts up right away even in the morning. A new fuel pump and a new gas manifold were replaced just last week. Also just got her oil changed and she runs like a champ around town and on the highways. The odometer has rolled over due to it's age, mileage is unknown. No shakes or rattles indicates a solid performer for many years to come. TERMS and Condition: Please be aware this is a 42+-year-old car and is Sold AS IS…no warranty.
