Vehicle Detail
1993 Porsche 928 GTS, Rebuilt title, red, 5 speed conversion. Transmission is an 85 or 86 and is LSD. Mileage is 99xxx current Pa inspection. I bought this car as a rebuild project a few years ago. Car was hit hard in the front and the insurance company salvaged it. I Replaced front clip from an 88 s4. Professional repair where the tolerances are within Porsche frame specs. The car dynoed 339 hp with the stock dual disk clutch and exhaust mods. I then supercharged it and couldn’t get it running right so I have now put the car back to stock. The s/c does not ome with the car and is not for sale. To hold the hp I had installed a clutch masters Kevlar plate dual disk unit from motorsports good to 800 hp is still in the vehicle. The crank endplay number was checked and the number is 0.013 inches, within spec. Exterior and Mechanical THE GOOD New rear main seal. New steering rack, New alternator, New battery with battery float charger. Motorsport stainless steel crossover with straight pipes. Fresh plugs, wires, cam sensor, water pump, timing belt, thermostat, all vacuum hoses replaced. New upgraded hose for outside temp sensor in drivers fender well. New rubber grommets for brake reservoir. Good brakes all around. 2 good tires in front. Mobil 1 synthetic 20/50 motor oil. Intake and valve covers powder coated wrinke black finish. Timing belt covers powder coated gloss black. Thermostat cover powder coated gloss silver. Transmission fluid replaced. RDK sensor computer disconnected. New hood struts. New rear upper and lower hatch lock. External oil cooler. Short shift kit installed along with associated linkage bushings. Sunroof was serviced, lubricated and new rubber cushions for the motor and tranny. I also have most of the original tools. Interior THE GOOD. Interior completely re-carpeted with brand new GAAH black. New Lloyd floor mats with red Porsche GTS stitching. The original electric seats were replaced with an early manual set for weight savings and simplicity. I think they are vinyl and a little faded but in excellent condition. No cracks in dash. Door panels recovered with new vinyl and carpeting. New expanded center console storage box newly recovered. Two new VW passat black interior dome lights installed with correct harnesses. First rate stereo system. Sony head unit with ipod connection. Alpine 5 channel amp. Eclipse 10 inch aluminum sub woofer. Doors have Diamond Audio separates with soft dome tweeters. Behind seats is JBL 6.5 inch separates with soft dome tweeters. Rear speakers are Boston Acoustics. Some new bulb sockets for the pass side rear lights. Installed quality am/fm sharkfin amplified antenna but the reception is poor im not sure why. THE BAD The headlights don’t go up, Fuses and relays look good. May be the headlight switch or the headlight motor. The hatch release (new switch) doesn’t open the hatch anymore. Front bumper cover is damaged at the bottom. Guage pod has cracking on the top. Air conditioning radiator was removed but compressor is still there. Rear tires need replacing. The oil pan gasket is leaking even though it has been replaced and another oil pan has been installed. The new clutch install has brought a problem with shifting into reverse and first gears. You can shift into these gears but it is difficult. Im sure that it could be corrected with an adjustment. The previous clutch was a stock dual disk and the car drove and shifted fine. Summary: I have spent over 30k on this car and countless hours restoring it. Im sure I have left some details out but if you have any questions just ask. Im done working on this car as I have lost interest in the project. I have tried to represent this vehicle as honestly as possible. This vehicle was meant to be a fun daily driver not a show car. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to see the car. I am also interested in trades or partial trades including, sports cars and luxury sports cars. Please no lowball offers. James 484-919-0484
