Vehicle Detail
This is a Very Rare 1989 Maserati Biturbo Spyder . This car is one of 164 of its kind brought into the country that year . Maserati by 1989 had finally perfected the Biturbo Spyder and drivetrain , it is basically an entirely different car than the 1986 models . The engine is a 2.8 liter , fuel injected , electronic ignitioned , air inter-cooled , twin turbo charged racing engine . Maserati also replaced the old 5 speed gear box with a much better and heavier duty one along with changing the rest of the entire drive train and also the front suspension and breaking system . These a great cars to drive . They are very fast and handle very well , nimble and responsive . This car has 29,769 miles on the odometer . We brought this car in from a storage situation and really had no way to judge its condition until it arrived . The body of the car needs some work in very small areas where rust has occured , most of the rust is quite minor but it will need to be addressed . The interior is nice but it will need some attention . We very lightly cleaned it off using conditioner only . Some panels of the alcanthra on the seats will need attention but the leahter is very good and at worst needs some re-dying . A final cleaning would go a long way to finish the interior . 99.8 of the wood veneer is intact needing finishing only . The trunk is very clean and dry we took pictures with the carpets out and in . The gas tank is good and clean and there is no floor rot . The convertable needs replacing , it is the only reason the interior is somewhat rough . The top works perfectly , up and down , all seals are good , one quarter window is loose . What works . Yes , The engine starts right up !! Yes it starts and runs , very well . We have not run it for long because it needs an oil and filter change . The clutch feels strong and the gear box is solid , all positions are easily accessed . The window work but they work slowly , they need cleaning and lubing , but they do work ! Signal switch and signals work , rear drivers tailight needs bulb . Reverse lights work , antenna works ! radio turns on ( Alpine ) . The CLOCK DOES WORK . The brakes work upon compression , tires are very good , quite fresh looking . Climate control is not on and the headlights need a relay or fuse replacement as do the horn and a few other things . Tonneau cover is nice but will need strecthing . Gas cap servo is clicking but system needs lubing . You will need a new set of hood lifts . The pictures make the car look a little better than it is but it is an impressive car so completely different than the earlier 1986s . The five stud wheels need futher cleaning but are in excellent condition with no curb rash . We would pull and flush the radiator and check all the hoses before running the engine . This car will respond well to a restoration , it has low miles and is a solid car that was left outside for a while . It would cost a fortune to produce such a car today and this one is one of the few Biturbos that will eventually become a good investment . We are pricing it for those who wish to restore it . The car comes with no guarantees , warrentees stated or implied at all . It is sold for parts or restoration only . We have many picture of the car , please email us for more details if you wish , thanks . Call with any questions , we will be glad to assist with any shipping needs US or Global . 413 219 0877
