*********A perfect fixer upper!! We just bought this car for our daughter. She wanted it and was going to pay to have it fixed up, but has changed her mind about working and instead will focus on school and singing***** The problems: It has a single crack across the driver side of the wind shield. It doesn`t leak and I drive the car without it bothering me. ($150?). The front passenger side brake seems to be grabbing a bit. It doesn`t scrape so I doubt its the pads (caliber?). Finally, there is one or two lifters clanging. My son says on these engines its on the top and not quite the job of older cars ( $300?). So, for $4-$500, the car could be made into a real nice car! It rides and handles excellent with good get up and go. The car can be driven but does need the work done to be a solid vehicle. Please don`t expect a new car. Nonetheless, it is a diamond in the rough. Look at the pix! Its a great looking car! Especially if you can do the work yourself or know someone who will! I will end the auction for any one who will pay $2000 cash!!!!!!!!!!!!! (the amount we paid for it) This is a SPORTY 2001 OLDSMOBILE ALERO. It is a gorgeous blue. The interior is gray. The tires look like new and the factory wheels look pretty good also. The a/c is good and the heater is even better! This model has the CD/ Cassette stereo. This car is loaded with factory options galore including sun roof, spoiler, large trunk, cruise, tilt steering, electric driver seat, etc! The engine is a 3.4L V-6 and an automatic transmission on the floor with a console and an EPG of 22 city and 27 hwy. As stated by the report, the car has not been in any major accidents. However, the back driver side red light lends is broken in a small area (this would be the accident listed in the report in 2/03). I do not know why they didn`t have it fixed (?). Otherwise, the body looks great! The interior shows normal wear for a car of this year. The seats are in good condition with no rips or tears. The carpet looks good, but does need cleaning to be in new condition. The battery is good. The window on the passenger side is not going down. I hear the motor running so it might just be off the track. It stays up and doesn't slide down. The car has an excellent exhaust ( it runs very quiet). This is not a new condition car, but it looks great and would make an excellent car as a second car, work car or teen car! Auto-trader has the 01 Alero's running for $3900-4900 average.
