The vehicle up for sale is a 1999 Ford Escort with a 2.0L SOHC SPI I4 engine and automatic transmission. This vehicle is NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION and I will do my best to describe this vehicle in detail please make sure you understand what you are getting and have the mechanical aptitude to fix it this is a project or parts car and needs some tlc. The vehicle was running rich and hot then stopped running. Replaced spark plugs (has spark), compression is good on all cylinders, added coolant and tried to start with starter spray into intake will turn over and run for about a second. There has been a lot of work done to this car recently so it could be fixed or be a good parts car. In 2009 this vehicle had most of the electrical system replaced, new alternator, new used engine computer, most of the wiring was redone, new used instrument cluster so mileage listed is 102,000 but actual mileage is about 185,000, new serpentine belt, new timing belt, new front brake discs, all 4 tires are Goodyear viva 2 the rear 2 have 90% tread left (replaced a year ago) and front 2 have 50% tread left (replaced about 2 years ago, the front hood was also repainted. There are a few problems with the veh there is front passenger quarter panel damage and visible scrape down passenger side of veh with a small crack/chip in passenger headlight (headlight still works perfectly), ac compressor does not work, cassette player does not work but radio works perfectly, there is a key broken off in the trunk keyhole it can be easily taken out(veh has push button trunk release), drivers side door lock is difficult to open with key but will open and needs door panel taken off to be looked at. The interior is in pretty good shape their are a couple minor cigarette burns in front seat but can be patched easily. The vehicle does not come with a battery or hub caps. Everything else on the veh is in good operating condition other than what was described above most of the problems are easy fixes I just do not have time with my work schedule to fix it.On Apr-24-11 at 12:13:26 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a question from a bidder the vehicle does not run and I do not know the exact reason why it will not run thus the description "mechanics special or parts car".
