Vehicle Detail

For sale, 1996 Saab 9000 CS in working condition. Was a very fine, high-end luxury car in its day and still runs but is no longer suitable for our needs. Driven lightly on numerous local trips for years in Minneapolis, MN and Lafayette, IN by seller's retired mother, now looking for a new home. She has new wheels and we are looking to sell this to a hobbyist, Saab enthusiast, etc. The vehicle runs well and the transmission is sound. Fuel system received major attention after the move to Indiana, and the exhaust system is safe but loud and probably needs some attention. Tires are good, body has some rust as shown in the pictures, and the interior is in reasonably good shape considering the age of this vehicle. All other systems are functional to the best of my knowledge, but the electrical system has been finicky in the past. Feel free to contact the seller with questions. If you are in the Lafayette, IN region we can arrange a personal tour/test drive of the car. UPDATE: I have been asked some questions about past and current maintenance issues and history - this is part of a response to a bidder that may be of use to everyone: The car has never stranded my mom anywhere, except when the fuel system pooped out (just as she got to Lafayette from MN), prompting a $800+ fix. This was not an electrical issue. The electrical system seems to have some intermittent qualities about it, nothing that ever lasts for too long or seems permanent. Right at the moment everything seems to be fine. Specifically what I've noticed are the following: 1. Once in Minneapolis I noticed that turn the turn signals would function irregularly, but then all was fine after I shut the car off at my destination and restarted to drive home. We've not to my knowledge seen this problem again since. 2. The left (driver side) headlight seems to turn off now and again. A local mechanic thought it was perhaps a loose connection, tweaked the bulb and it came back on. Then it was off again, then on again - intermittent but probably just a nicely hidden loose wire. 3. The power seats on the driver side decided spontaneously to lower to the lowest possible elevation and wouldn't come back up. But, after some time not running, all is well again. That's it. Frustrating but not critical it seems. The car was regularly and lovingly maintained by a real pro Saab mechanic in Minneapolis for years, from whom we bought the vehicle in 2004 and other Saabs before this one. The problem is that there are no Saab pros here, but if you have the right people near you and/or if you are that Saab pro, this car should have much life left in it - in my non-professional opinion. We are moving in August, and I didn't want my mom to try another cross-country trek in this car, especially when I could offer her my newer used car after I bought a brand-new vehicle. The Saab probably would make it all the way to our new home, but I no longer wanted to bet on this given that my mom is elderly - hence the reason why we're selling this one.
