Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car since 2003. Drove it for 6 years off and on, and then decided to embark upon building a 1973 RSR Martini tribute car. Two years and $17,000 later, it's not done, Divorce states "Everything Must Go!" So, I must abandon a dream, perhaps someone out there has a similar dream. If you do, you are going to get one heck of a deal because of 2 reasons: 1. I'm aware that you never get out of these what you pay to build them (done it 5 times now...) but it sure is fun! & 2. I have to give half of this money to someone that really doesn't deserve it - she never liked the car anyways! So, the details: 1967 SWB Base car. Ran and drove fine before but decided to restore. Once I got into it the rust was more than annoying. Started with floor pans, Front pan & cross member. Then decided to replace every panel. Complete RSR Kit from GT Racing: Front fenders, Front & Rear RSR Bumpers, Rear Deck lid with Duck tail, Front Hood, and Both rear quarters with fenders. Also from GT got the Rt Rr Quarter window scoop (more on that later), and the front and rear hood and bonnet latches ( the cool rubber ones that look like t-handles) New outer door skins, RS America door panels and pulls, RSR carpet kit (Laid in car for photos) didn't want to glue down incase some engine management wiring needs to head aft. Lots of other new stuff to much to list, there is a ton there, but you will have to buy more to finish it how you want it. Paint is 2 months old. New Seats All windows removed for paint, had them tinted at that time. The fun part. Ok I'm a Mechanical Engineer so I'm always looking for a new way to accomplish something. In this case I wanted over 350HP the car will weigh ~1950lbs when complete.. Zoom. Those of youe familiar with Porsche clearly understand that it takes a good sum of Money to develop 350HP... So I discovered the alternative: Buick 231 Turbo! the engine out of the Grand National. I bought the short block, had a custom radiator built by Ron Davis Racing Radiators, and piped the car with 1" Stainless Steel Braided Hose and Pipe. The radiator sits upfront behind where the oil cooler would reside and is cooled by forced air and electric fans to be ducted out from under the bonnet through the wheel well. The Motor is Brand new and still on the stand. It will bolt up to the original Transmission with an adapter kit from Trans-adapt. It fits into the engine compartment with no modifications, using the same mounting bracket that holds the flat-6 up, Air enters through the scoop in the rear passenger quarter window through the speaker deck and into an air box in the engine compartment. Need heads, Carb, header & Turbo! I've sourced an original 930 exhaust so once you have the 8" down tube fabricated you install the Porsche exhaust in its factory position and whallah! you will have a sleeper with a factory 930 note! Or just simply drop in an original 911 engine that you may have lying around. I could go on and on so ask me any and all the questions you may have. I have 100's of photos of the build and its current state. If there is something you want to see or get a shot of let me know and I'll send it your way. This is not a basket case by any means, it was a well thought out plan... all except for the part of having to sell it now. I could probably go on about that too... LOL Paypal will work out great for this deal unless a wire transfer or Cashiers check is preferred by the purchaser. Shipping is easy, under a 1200 miles from 85254 (Scottsdale, AZ) will be right around $700 over that, a wee bit more. I know a shipping broker so they can help you get it arranged on your end, No shipping charges will be assessed here; the purchaser will make their own agreement with their selected shipping company. I'll package up everything and send it along with the car. ASK ME YOUR QUESTIONS!On Apr-26-11 at 09:26:48 PDT, seller added the following information: VIN # 458689 68-6607-g
