1979 Super Beetle Convertible California Car NO RESERVE! Hello and welcome to my auction. I have been very busy finding and fixing 1965-1979 Beetle and Super Beetles and I found this True Mars Red 1979 Convertible in Fresno California. The VIN # is 1592038084.. When I bought it this car was all apart and missing its motor and tranny as well as front seats and other small parts. I just rebuilt a 1600cc carburated engine and 4 speed manual transmission that I personally inspected and its a good one. There is a rebuilt carb, new points,spark plugs,spark plug wires,new oil,distrubator cap and rotor. This is all just in the motor and were not even talking the rest of the car yet. The car runs and drives great . I just took it for a spin around the block today but it is just test miles and you will need to come get the car by trailer as on a new motor it is not recommended to drive over 55 mph for the first 500 miles . If you choose to take it off the trailer down the block that's up to you but when it leaves it will be on a trailer so no one can say I did not make them aware of the brake in period for a new Volkswagen aircooled engine. I have replaced the door panels,carpet and put in a set of Volkswagen correct racing seats or a set of the original low back 79 seats, your choice both will need recovered down the road . I then repainted the front of the car where there was a light accident on the passenger side fender. This is more then likely why the car has a salvage title.This is a low budget paint job and I recommend having the car repainted at some point but there is no dents and I have blocked out the hood so it is nice and straight .The body doors and fenders are also all german sheet metal in excellent condition with no rust and there is no rust in the frame supports ,shock towers and I did not notice anything more then surface scale on the underside . I see no structual damage and the car drives down the road. I did replace the front tie rods,checked all the suspension and replaced all the bushings including the struts and sway bar so this car is actually in better condition then many on the road . I checked the barrings as well as replaced all the brakes.Now if your concerned even in the least about safety this car has passed California inspection to receive it's title to be operating so there are no worries . This is a great car for that beach house, lake house, daily driver, first car,collage car or whatever else, I don't need or want and issues over a NO RESERVE car. I"m not trying to get rich off of anybody and I would rather the car sell low or not at all then to someone who expects to much. Don't get me wrong this is the most desired beetle out there and the best color and it is a good car and I have seen locally Beetles in the same condition selling for over $5000. This will be sold because its going absolutely NO RESERVE of any kind. The convertible top and headliner are brand new I just installed them over the weekend and they do fit nice .Also I want to mention that the front pillers are perfect with no damage of any kind ,a lot of these beetles you find the front windows won't fit because they have been bent over the years. This one is perfect.Also I have a brand new windshield that I will include, the new owner will be responsible to pay the $50.00 to have it professionally installed. Last The rims and tires that are pictured are not included . I paid close to $1,000.00 for the rims and tires that are pictured . I will sell the rims and tires which are almost brand new and the rims are only a couple months old for an additional $650.00 or I have a set of steel rims on excellent tires that are also close to new maybe 2,500 miles on them that will go with the car.Also so there isn't any confusion concerning the mileage it is unknown, the engine has only test miles and runs perfect. .Terms: No deposit but phone call immediatly at the end of auction will act as your deposit. Winning bidder must call within one hour of auctions end to work out fine details and most of all to know if the car is sold to a serious bidder .If There is no communication I will re-list or submit a 2nd chance offer. I had a bidder who bid on my auction last time out and waited 3 days to call me . I had other buyers that I lost because he simply did not follow the terms. Next full payment must be made no later then 72 hours or 3 days from auctions end by bank wire transfer ,bank certified bank funds or of course cash in person. Please do not think if sending a check you can wait 3 days that is 3 days for me to receive it and not to be sent. It needs to be over nighted if not using wire transfer and no paypal please.This is of course is a as is auction and all sales are final. There will be no extra work done to this car other then making sure the battery is fully charged ,the tires are fully aired and there is plenty of fuel in the tank. I can help with shipping in the states as well as anywhere in the world but all costs are at buyers expense. I have sent cars everywhere from New York to Florida , Texas to South Dakota and California to South Carolina . This car is carburated and not fuel injected. I will not smog the car or know if it would smog with a carb. That is up to the county you live in which is your job to know all city,state,county laws. What I do know is it runs great and a great deal.
