Vehicle Detail

I bought this car in 2008 and used it as a daily driver for school. The motor is a 1776cc with a dual carb setup. It has plenty of power for pulling a hill on the interstate. When I bought the car the previous owner told me the new motor had about 22,000 miles on it. I have since put on about 15,000 more. I parked the car last year and bought another car to use as a daily driver so I could properly restore this one. My plans have since changed and I need to buy a truck so I no longer have the money to restore this one the way it should be. I was told the car was repainted in the late 80’s to early 90’s. It used to be the lighter shade of blue that can be seen inside the trunk area. The car comes with a few spare parts. I have a new voltage regulator, and a brand new brake master cylinder, not remanufactured. I wasn’t planning on installing the master cylinder until I was finishing up the restoration. The brake pedal is spongy and the tires need to be replaced before returning to daily driver status. The previous owner also upgraded the front end to a disc brake setup and coilover shocks all around. The spanner wrench for the coilovers is also included. It also has the heater blower motors (http://www.jcwhitney.com/defroster-heater-booster-system-for-all-beetles-and-karmann-ghias/p2002922.jcwx?filterid=d14268y1973j1), which are kind of loud but help blow the heat into the car in the winter time. The front seats are ProCar but they need to be recovered and some of the foam needs to be fixed. The car has the usual rust problems in the sail panel area. The previous owner said he removed the rust and put fiberglass on it and put some primer on it. I was planning on removing the fiberglass and replacing with sheet metal. The floorboards seem to be in pretty good shape with some surface rust. The last time I checked under the battery the floor had no holes there, just a little surface rust. The hardline running from the fuel tank to the back of the car seems to have a clog in it. When running the fuel filter will only fill half way but it still runs good. I hooked up a fuel line directly from the fuel pump to a gas can and the filter will fill all the way up with fuel. I have described this car to the best of my ability and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. You are more than welcome to see the car in person before bidding, just email me what day and time you would like to see it and I will work something out with you. The car is sold as is, and has no warranty. The new owner will need to tow the car home due to the tires and the master cylinder. Thanks and happy bidding. I have posted a video on youtube of the motor running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiC07CSnzA0
