Vehicle Detail

This car is being relisted to to an unresponsive nonpaying bidder last time. Please do not bid unless you are prepared to follow through with the transaction. This is my beautiful and rare 1974 Mercedes-Benz 240D Diesel sedan. This must be the nicest 240D for sale anywhere in the country. This car is absolutely exceptional in every way. I buy and sell rare and hard-to-find vehicles, and this is one of the finest Mercedes diesels I've ever encountered. It is clean, pristine and gorgeous from top to bottom. This car is the collectible W115 body style, reminiscent of the "fin tail" cars from the 1960s. This car is fully documented from BRAND NEW. I have the original stamped book from the dealer who sold it new here in Cleveland. The car cost exactly $8500.00 when new in 1974. I have copies of every title that has ever been issued for the car since new, proving and documenting 94,741 original miles. The car is equipped with the 2.4L Diesel engine, 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, huge sliding sunroof and original Becker AM/FM radio. I have all the books and owner's manuals, including the books for the Becker radio. This car is as original as you'll ever find. It has been repainted once, and a quality job was done. The paint and body are in gorgeous, clean and beautiful condition. There is NO noted body rust on this car- it is unbelievably clean in every respect. The car is solid in every way, including the floorpans and underside. I cannot imagine a cleaner W115 chassis Mercedes can be found anywhere. Please view my underside photos of the car- it is outstandingly clean. The interior is completely original and is in beautiful shape. These cars are extremely collectible since they have the classic Mercedes look, yet the incredible durability and fuel economy of the 4-cylinder diesel. This car will get somewhere around 40mpg. This car is peppy and fun to drive, contrary to what you might think for a diesel- the 4-speed manual transmission really makes the car fun to drive. The car starts up perfectly every time, and it is smooth and powerful- it runs like a Swiss watch. The car has no known mechanical problems- it could drive cross-country tomorrow. These 240Ds are known to last over 500,000 miles before they need an engine rebuild, at this mileage accumulation rate the car will last 185 years before it needs an engine rebuild!! This is an appreciating investment- these cars are increasing in value every year. Buy this one and pass it down to your children. To be nitpicky, the radio seems to work intermittently, last week it worked and this week it doesn't. There are two tiny dings on the top edge of the driver's front fender. The heater blower motor doesn't work, but the heat will work just fine relying on air blowing thru the system as you drive. There are a couple of dings on the front bumper. The tires and brakes are good. This car is stored inside my heated building in Willoughby, OH. If you're interested in seeing the car before bidding, please email me or call/text me at 440 339 4341. $500 deposit due within 48 hours, full payment within 7 days. I will work with the shipping company of your choice, or pick you up at the airport, train station, etc and you can drive it home anywhere. Please note this car is also for sale locally and potentially subject to sale to a local buyer before the listing ends. This demonstrates the outstandingly clean condition. This car is as clean and rust-free as any W115 anywhere in the country. http://s803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/john8md/1974%20Mercedes%20240D/ On Apr-05-11 at 16:48:44 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-05-11 at 16:49:30 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-05-11 at 16:50:04 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-05-11 at 16:50:52 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-05-11 at 16:51:58 PDT, seller added the following information:
