Vehicle Detail
This is a mostly original 1975 Triumph Trident with 10,418 miles. The only things not original are the mufflers, the rear signals are re-pops, and the horn is incorrect. The motor and frame numbers match and the bike is titled in the state of Texas. The bike starts and runs as it should. We have recently preformed some service work on this bike. We replaced the clutch rubbers and adjusted the clutch, rebuilt the carbs, replaced nuts/bolts etc. There is an invoice posted below, so that you can see what all we did to this bike. The electric starter works, but it struggles with the battery that is currently in it. The electric start on a Trident didn’t work that well in 1975, but there are some things you can do to help it work better. We believe that installing a better battery with more cranking power would help the starter. The bike has a Boyer electronic ignition installed, and the bike is easy to start with the kick starter. However, it has been our experience that three cylinder electric starts work much better with Tri-spark ignition systems. This is only a recommendation, not a necessity. The paint on the gas tank is original, and shows some signs of age; but we think it has just the right amount of patina. The brakes work, and the throttle responds well. This is a nice old bike! The top end on this bike was done about 2000 miles ago. The bike hasn’t seen much action since then. It came to us out of storage and we did the above mentioned service work to make it a good rider again. These T-160s are getting harder and harder to find, especially in original and functional condition such as this one. We will ship this bike worldwide, except to the countries that are listed in our exclusion list. Please check the exclusion list first. This bike will have to be in a crate for international export . The crate will have to be built from certified wood that will pass customs. The crate will cost approx $385 to have built. Please estimate your own international shipping. I suggest looking up a customs broker near you and getting an quote. If this bike sells domestically, we suggest Allied van lines. It should not cost more than $650 to have this bike delivered anywhere in the continental USA via Allied Van Lines. Local pick up and payment is okay, within two weeks of auction end. There is a $500 deposit required within 48 hours of auction end. Texas residents will be subject to TTL if they win this auction.
