Vehicle Detail

Here is a 1980 Honda CB 650C motorcycle. I bought this bike two years ago from a friend who had painted the tank in a neat purple flame motif and the side covers as well. He did a great job! It had been in storage for some time. When I got it the carbs and gas tank had to be cleaned out from old gas etc. It took a while to get the carbs cleaned and I cleaned the inside of the tank with muriatic acid and then sealed it. It needed a new petcock as well. It ran pretty good but would lose power around 60-70 and not go much faster. I changed out the igniters and timing advance but not much difference. Finally I upped the main jets in the Keihin carbs and this fixed it. It now runs up to red line like it should and the plugs are nice and tan. These bikes are notorious for running lean and they are very cold natured as well, but after warming up on choke for a while when first started, it does great. It has 24144 miles on it and I have put 375 miles on it since I got it. It has a Continental 3.50H-19 front tire and a Duro 130/90-16 on the back both mounted on the original Comstar wheels. They both have good tread. I put in a new air filter, new plugs, changed the oil, and put a new battery in it when I got it. The seat has a few small tears (see photo) but I think they could be restitched. All the electrics work. The original bars were swapped out for the short drag bars at some time and they fit me just fine, however, I have the original bars if you want to change them out. I also have a set of Mac 4 into 1 pipes for it as well. Speaking of spare parts I have an original 17" rear wheel and tire set if you don't like the custom look. The engine is oil tight and I haven't noticed any major leakage anywhere. The front brake wasn't operating at first but I bled it out and put new fluid in and it came back. I have a rebuild kit for it just in case. I think this would make a nice little commuter bike for someone, it is bound to become a classic because it has the last of the Honda single cam four engines in it that began with the early 750's. If you have any questions about this motorcycle, please ask. I will require $200 down with Paypal within 48 hours of purchase and the rest when you pick it up. It will be picked up as is where is. Thanks for looking and bidding!
