Up for auction a 1995 S500 with 162,000 miles. Includes two sets of tires, one winter and one all season, one set of wheels. Summer tires are currently mounted. Please read the description before bidding. The known issues with the vehicle are as follows: 1. It has a whining noise when in P, R or N that is usually absent most of the time when in drive. Once moving the noise mostly cannot be heard. It appears to be a transmission noise, but the car shifts normally. Recent transmission service, no metal was found. The noise was present before the service. 2. Power steering leak near the reservoir and near the steering gear. The leak near the reservoir is larger. May need the hose that runs from the reservoir to the pump, or the pump. The leak at the steering gear and pump are very common. 3. The rear brakes pulsate slightly otherwise okay. Needs pads and disks to fix this. 4. The right front spring is cracked at the bottom, occasional spring noise but otherwise you wouldn’t notice it. 5. The drivers front and passenger rear window regulators may need to be replaced, trouble closing the last few inches but they close if you pulse the switch. 6. Front motor mounts are recommended, collapsed but not broken. 7. Some areas of wear on the front leather seats. Driver seat has a wear spot on the outside seat back. Owned for 7 years and professionally maintained. Repairs that have been done are as follows 1. Engine wiring harness was replaced in 1999 under warranty, faulty engine wiring insulation was a common problem on this year. 2. Front brakes pads/disks replaced less than 3k ago 3. Rear accumulators and rear self leveling shocks and lines from accumulators to shocks (common problem), replaced about 3yrs ago, all dealer parts. Suspension fluid and filter have been changed. 4. Front end repairs, lower control arm bushings, front springs, front shocks, lower ball joints, sway bar links and ball joints all done about 5 years ago. Normal wear and tear. Dealer parts. Doesn't need any suspension work except for a broken spring. 5. Plugs, transmission fluid and filter, brake flushes, cabin filter, coolant all replaced regularly. No engine codes, or warning lights. Currently registered and will pass inspection. 6. Lower pan seal and oil level sender have been replaced (common leak), no engine oil leaks. 7. Blower motor and regulator are about 2yrs old. This repair is common. 8. A/C evaporator and receiver drier was replaced about 6yrs ago, a/c and heat work normally. Evaporator leaks on this model are common. 9. A/C control unit was replaced w/ Programma remanufactured unit, last year. 10. smog pump was replaced about 5yrs ago, bad clutch. 11. front door checks replaced. 12. Floor Mat set is two years old, Mercedes OE. 13. Two sets of tires both near new. Continental Contiprocontact All season and Michelin X-ice winter tires both 235 60 R16 100H. The summer tires are mounted. Both sets included. 14. Hirshmann antenna assembly was replaced about 2yrs ago. 15. power steering filter was replaced. 16. Interior display illumination bulbs have been replaced, such as the instrument cluster. 17. Battery is OE Mercedes about 3yrs old. 18. Left front upper arm was replaced about 6 months ago. 19. The rear bushings in the knuckle have been replaced. 20. Drivers door was replaced several years ago, minor door hit in a parking lot. Integral window track was bent and it couldn't be repaired. New MB door shell was used. Everything is working in the vehicle unless as noted above, central locking and closing assist operates. Two remote keys. Folding mirrors and interior mirror is motorized. Working heated seats front and rear. Rear bench reclines. Has ASR (rear wheel traction control). No CD changer but it is wired for it. Original radio, display not missing any pixels. Any questions please ask before bidding. has been a great dependable car. Well cared for. Paint in good condition, one spot of rust about 1/4" in diameter center if right rear door. No hidden rust, or structural damage. Overall runs and rides very well for its age. Plate number is obscured in the photos, pictures are otherwise unedited. Selling bought a newer W220 S-Class.
