1999 GMC Suburban SLT 2500 4X4 9 Passenger - The Ultimate Towing Machine It is with mixed emotions that we offer our 99' Suburban for sale. We have owned this for the last 3 years and it has served us very well. This is the most powerful towing vehicle that I have ever owned. It is the 2500 or 3/4 ton, 8600GVW truck. It has the bullet proof 7.4L V-8 coupled with the 4L80E monster of a transmission. I also upgraded the radiator with an all aluminum, 3 row radiator just last year. This thing NEVER even trys to heat up, even in the middle of summer, pulling a 30' travel trailer. As for other items that have been replaced, the rear brakes were just done last year. VERY expensive. Everything was done, including new drums and hardware kits. Parts alone were over $400. The HydroBoost unit was also replaced and one front hub bearing was just done last month. New battery about 3 months ago, new serpentine belt and tensioner and regular oil changes every 3000 miles. Intake manifold gaskets and new lifters were done at 120M miles. This truck runs and drives great. 4 wheel drive system works as it should, and the brakes stop firm and fast with no pulsation or pull. It has the load range "E" tires which are at about 50%. These will get you through the summer, but I would replace them prior to next winter. I would not hesitate to drive this truck across the country tomorrow if I had to. As for options, it is pretty well loaded. Power everything, windows, locks, seat, etc. Front and rear A/C and heat and it all works as it should. AM/FM Cassette and CD. Keyless entry with remote. Another plus with the truck is that is NO RUST!! Look at the pictures of the door bottoms. We bought this out of Florida, so it has only spent a few winters here in Michigan and being that we use this more in the summer, it hasn't seen that much winter driving. The paint still looks respectable. The roof is starting to show its age, but still nice. There is one "soft" dent in the rear. (see photo) I bought it like that and it never bothered me enough to have repaired. The leather interior is still nice. We just had the seats re-dyed to freshen it up. This is the rare 9 passenger model. It has a full bench up front and the 3rd row seating in back. The only negative worth mentioning is that it does have a power steering leak. Not sure if it's a seal or just a hose, but I really don't have to add that much fluid. Maybe a few times per year is all. Overall, it's in great shape. At 137,000 miles. it still has many years of service to offer. The last Suburban we had was sold with 240,000 miles on it and it was still going strong. PLEASE SEE THE AUTOCHECK REPORT! This has a clean report and we are only the 2nd owners. Truck is located in Macomb, Michigan which is between Detroit and Port Huron. Please keep in mind that this is 12 years old and it has normal wear and tear consistent with a vehicle of this age. It is also priced accordingly. Blue Book on this vehicle is around $6700 and we are well below that. If you are expecting a new vehicle, you are in the wrong place. You will need to visit your local GMC dealer where you can pick out a new one, however remember that new ones are approaching $70,000! And, they don't build them as heavy duty as this one is.
