Vehicle Detail

A very collectable 1972 Triumph Trophy 650 TR6C. The last year of the TR6C and only 1150 produced, the lowest number since 1966. Matching engine and frame numbers KG34793 TR6C. A very early production model (Sept. 1971) so it has the screw-in exhaust spigots, older style rocker boxes and intake manifolds and other features that were changed later in the 1972 model year. For the restorer, the bike is quite original in the engine, frame, wheels, fenders, tank and nuts/bolts, etc. Speedometer shows 24,404, engine does not appear to have ever been removed, as all fittings seem to be correct and unmolested. No broken bits, gearbox cover, timing cover and primary case are all good. Has original headlight with Lucas lense, skid plate, folding pegs, etc. The bike does run, rides well and the gearbox and clutch work properly. I acquired the bike recently as a non-runner (no spark) with no title and it had been in storage for a long time. Turns out it had a broken tab on the right side condenser and a weird coil and burned points on the left side. I replaced the coil and points and both condensers, new battery, cleaned the carb bowl and tank. The bike was a bit hard to start, but did and ran fine and smooth, gears worked properly after unsticking the clutch plates. Checked the compression, had 135 on the right and only 50 on the left; it does idle but you can tell the left cylinder is not doing much, but runs smoothly after a little increase in RPM. The tank has been repainted solid white and has a couple of scratches but no dents, chromed fenders are original, front quite nice, rear not as good, mufflers have suffered scrapes and are missing the bracket to the frame, and there is a leak in the rear tire. Exhaust pipes are very good with no dents or rust. It was missing the turn signals, so I installed a new set, then noticed that the left handlebar switches were unpluged underneath the tank, so may have had a short or something. Sold with no title, but will provide a Bill of Sale and previous owner's contact information. Ask questions if I can help. Sold with NO RESERVE! Shipping is at buyer's cost or local pick-up. I can drop the bike off at a shipping location near Austin, TX at no charge or can work with any of the Ebay shippers. Usually runs $200-$500 depending on distance. Not familiar with international shipping; any international buyers would have to make all arrangements. On Apr-08-11 at 09:21:16 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE SEE QUESTION AND ANSWER BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION. ALSO, THE SPEEDOMETER DOES WORK!
