1971 Super beetle Convertible 61135 mile 1 owner car I am going to try to keep this as short and to the point as possible. This is a 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible that was a 1 owner and from what I was told was bought brand new in 1972 and was driven through highschool college and was used as a daily driver to go to work up until 10 years ago where it then sat with a cracked head . I purchased it from the first owners neice who the car was given to , to restore it. She didn't have the money or time to take on the car so I bought it and had the car repainted with a new rebuilt motor with new heads but used the very rare A E motor which was the highest horsepower motor ever offered in a Volkwagen beetle or super beetle. Below I'll go into all the new parts but please take into consideration the time and effort just to locate these cars let alone restore them or just to bring them back to life. I travel all over California spending thousands in fuel and lodging to locate these "Fun" little cars . I am not a dealer "I am not getting rid of it" just the oppisite I just spent $1,200.00 in the past 7 days in just new parts . New rebuilt engine 1600 CC dual port New Parts ; New fuel pump , new carburator just out of the box yesterday,new coil, new distrubator ,new distrubator cap , rotor and points. New spark plug wires and belt , new rebuilt generator and regualator ,new fuel filter everything this car would need is fixed and ready to be driven. Transmission New parts ; Clutch , throwout barring and pressure plate Interior New parts: New factory correct seat covers in gray , new door panels , new carpet , new door handles Brakes New parts; New steel brake lines and rubber lines have been checked and in good shape also new brake shoes Tires All 4 tires are new Body and Paint This was repainted a few weeks ago and it was not done to a high standard as you would find on those $4,000 or $5,000 paint jobs . If your looking for that type of car I could lead you in that direction but also be ready to spend $20,000 plus . This is a nice car and is very shiny with no dents or dings and we noticed no rust in the body or floors while the body work was being done . This was a solid car from the very beginning with excellent heater channels and frame supports. You obvisouly can tell this was and is a California car . I would say it would be on the quality of a Maaco type paint job. No crazy expectations please Exterior New parts ; new running boards,front and back gravel guards,door guards,whindshield,whindshield gasket,chrome "bug eyes" over front lights Ok ,Convertible top. What I have done in the past is offer a brand new out of the box convertible top with all the trimmings including new headliner,padding ,new bows front and back, all new cables all new rubber weather stripping at cost if you brought the car to me of $2,000.00 . I will include as long as the car goes over $4,500.00 one penny less then $4,500 all that will be included is new bows and the metal frame. I do not mind cutting deals and offering these no reserve but I can no longer afford to lose money plus labor. Also the convertible boot that is pictured is not in great shape and is only there to cover up the bare bows. The choice is yours if you want a brand spanken new top in either White or Black or you can buy it without the top . Because it is very nice weather and not cold I can get the tops installed in as little as 72 hours after auctions end as long as it meets my $4,500 and full payment is made before I install the color you pick. I do not want to make this any difficult then it has to be and I have done this on 3 other cars and I can show what the different tops look like after they are done. We are professionals and we installs convertible tops for a living so we know what we are doing and the only way we can offer this great deal. Full payment in 72 hours of 3 days from auctions end by bank wire transfer,bank certified funds over nighted or of course cash in person. This car is being sold as is and all sales are final. I can help with trasporting but all costs are at owners expense. I am waiting for my first grandson who is to be born anyday now and was suppose to be last week. So you will need to set up a time to view the car by appointment only or you may send an independant inspector. I would rather not sell the car then sell it to someone that doesn't fully understand what they are buying and being disappointed . These cars are 40 years old with old technology and the quriks that come with that . I will not be responsible for for someone is not fimuliar with beetles. Please check back for video and pictures. I hope all look at the interior pictures at how nice the condition truely is for not being a frame up restoration it looks very nice.
