This car designed and engineered by Roush Performance for a movie code named “RUN”. Unfortunately this movie ran over budget and was never produced, which is often a problem in the movie industry. This highly customized piece of art/ drag car is a must have for any drag racing or Roush Mustang fan. Nicknamed by Jack Roush as “STRETCH”, the visual appeal of this vehicle is jaw dropping. To start this car features a high quality custom paint job laid out in durable and unique aircraft paint. This flat aluminum toned paint looks amazing. Other Roush upgrades include 427R body kit: front fascia, chin spoiler, and custom rockers, widened rear fenders (quarters), billet grille with custom lighting, ect…. Inside reveals a premium mustang upgraded with Roush gauges, Corbeau Roush edition racing seat, custom roll cage, 5 point racing harness, 6 point roll cage, Roush short throw shifter, custom power seat, Momo racing steering wheel, and comfort amenities like premium sound, power windows, cruise, and a carbon fiber dash kit. The power train features the ROUSH Performance P-51A™ motor which is the highest horsepower Mustang that the company has ever produced, and represents the first time that internal engine components have been upgraded by ROUSH technicians in their Livonia, Michigan facility. The following upgrades allow this motor to produce an estimated 565 horsepower/ 510 ft.lbs or torque. It was determined that the only way to give the P-51A™ moniker its due was to completely break into the 4.6L, 3V and rebuild several of the functional internal components, which include a forged steel eight-bolt crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons with increased dish to lower the compression from 9:8 to 8:6, and forged steel H-Beam connecting rods. These upgraded parts were necessary for the stock Ford engine (which comes with 300 horsepower from the factory) to be able to withstand the additional power generated from the newest iteration of the legendary R2300 TVS ROUSHcharger™ supercharger system. These alterations also include a custom aluminum upper and lower intake manifold for the high capacity air-to-water intercooler with a custom fuel rail and high-flow fuel injectors, a high-flow capacity fuel system, a dual electronic throttle body, and a 8 Bolt Aluminum Flywheel/Hi Performance Clutch. Suspension upgrades include the top of the line stage3 427R coil-over front suspension, with Roush developed 6 piston brakes which can be seen behind the further customized 18-inch ROUSH forged five-spoke wheels, and 4 link solid live axle rear. Front and rear sway bars and jounce bumpers are also part of these extensive suspension upgrades. Vehicle has an upgraded stock 3:55 gear. As if this car doesn’t have enough providence, it was also the pilot car for the development of the 2008 p51a mustangs which jack Roush Performance produced only 151 of these rare mustangs. This is all is a reflection of Jack’s passion and desire for vintage World War 2 aircrafts. These particular models were base off the “OLD CROW”, which is one of several World War 2 P-51 aircrafts that are owned by this legendary automotive and aviation engineer. This is part of a trio that I was lucky enough to purchase directly from roush last November. This is the only of the 3 that has the p-51 motor with the high output super charger.
