Vehicle Detail
Due to my diabetes with complications with glaucoma and follow on cataracts I have come to realize that i will never complete this car and even if I did I can't see well enough to drive it so I have decided to sell it so that someone else may enjoy it. Below is what I was told when I purchased the little car and it is exactly as I purchased it Note that this car does not run. The engine is ithe infamous slant 6 - 225 that is stingy on gas and very dependable, let alone EZ to work on. It is bolted into the engine compartment but is currently not wired or gas line hooked up to run. It has been hot wired while in the car and it runs fine. I was told it is out of a 1967 DODGE Dart. The gentleman that owned the car previously took this 67 6 out of his car and replaced it with a V8 so this 6 went into the 65. It is complete with radiator, distributor, carburetor, air cleaner, alternator, starter, etc. See the photos. Transmission is an automatic with floor shift The car has nice black bucket seats and full back seat and they appear to have been recently recovered. The door panel pieces and the door pieces (window glass, regulators, etc. are in the trunk). The car has 3 14" rims w/hubcaps and the RF wheel has a 13" one. The 4th matching cap is in the trunk. I have tried to find a 4th rim but have not and quit looking. I was told the front suspension - tie rods and brakes are fresh rebuilds. Also the gauges are custom and they are brand new and will need wiring. The convertible top is all there but will need a new canvas for those not so sunny days. It does open and fold down pretty freely. This would be a great father/son project car, simple, ez to work on, and best of all a convertible for those sunny Spring days coming up real soon. There are additional parts in the trunk such as coil, windows, door parts, window regulators, power steering pump but you will probably have to acquire some more parts to complete getting it on the road. It steers fine as it sits. Paint looks fairly fresh and I think a good wet sand and polish and you probably would not think it was the same car when you were done. Good luck bidding, as with any old used car it will need some work and is sold as is with no warranty impressed or implied. If you want to fly out and personally inspect it I am located about 20 miles from the Sarasota (SRQ) airport and 50 milesfrom the Tampa (TPA) airport. Any questions call me 941 914 5720 ask for Jim, I live just North of Sarasota, FL and this car is in my garage nice and dry.
