Vehicle Detail
Up here is a professionally Rotisserie restored rare 1967 Jaguar 420 with steel electric sunroof and wire wheels. There has been 460 miles put on the car since it was restored. I have photos of the car through out the complete restoration. The car was special ordered (wires, sunroof, color) here in southern California by a gentleman who lived in Newport Beach. The second owner (worked for first owner) is a professional restorer who has worked for Jay Leno and decided to do a full restoration on the car. I have photos from scratch and most of the reciepts including 20k plus on the interior (BAS did interior), then original (matching number) engine transmission redone, complete front and rearend redone.... The car was completely gutted (i have the photos) then redone, the body had zero rust, the doors were left on to make sure it had perfect fit... According to stats the color Primrose yellow was a special order as well as the steel electric sunroof. I own and have owned many Jaguars but this one is very special. It is very rare optioned vehicle that had a supreme restoration with no cost spared (even door panels were done with conolly leather). The restorer estimates he spent 75000 on its restoration. It drives very well, the pictures speak for its condition... also... i have the original faux horn grills in original jaguar packaging... the restorer went for a cleaner front end look but that can easily be put on.... There are a few minor items that need attention: 1: Tach reads double (first year with impulse electric tachometer that is wired through left fuel tank guage) 2: Left fuel tank guage not reading (has common ground with part of tachometer system, seems to be no literature on this) 3: 1000 mile service is due though only about 460 miles put on car... 4:window washer not hooked up along with wiper blades (it works.i am afraid of scratching the windshield plus car not driven in rain) 5: Original radio (restored) works great but a electric attennae was added (restorer had it set to raise with turn of key, it need to be set to open with turning on the radio) 6: According to the restorer, the sunroof switch original location was in the glove box, the restorer did not want to put it back there since the glove box was restored, It works but needs a mounting location... I have read of different custom spots to put it but it has yet been determined.... simple thing but needs to be done.. The car is a beautiful example.... My father has decided to sell a few of his cars, i will be listing his 1955 MG TF 1500 in the next week or two.
