Vehicle Detail

This is my beautiful BMW 1975 BMW 2002 coupe. In my opinon, this is one of the coolest, most fun-to-drive vintage cars you can buy at any price. This car has been mildly restored and it is in beautiful condition. The car has been repainted and looks gorgeous. The paint and body are in superb condition, and it is straight and clean in every respect. The underside is solid, the floorpans are new, and the body is excellent. The interior has been restored as well, with brand new carpet throughout, and restored upholstery and vinyl. This car isn't "over-restored" though, it still retains an all-original vintage feel. Everything was kept stock and completely original in appearance. The mechanicals have been gone over as well, the motor, transmission and supension have been gone over, serviced and are in superb condition. The car has Alpina wheels and nearly new tires. This car runs and drives like a gem. It starts perfectly and is smooth, powerful and quiet. Typical for a 2002, the handling is outstanding. This car is totally, 100% reliable. It doesn't smoke, leak or drip any fluids, and it is reliable and can be driven anywhere. This isn't the "old car" that you worry about leaving you stranded. The engine is all stock, a 2.0 with the original 2-barrel carburetor. The transmission is a 4-speed manual that shifts perfectly. This is an excellent, fun, dependable little BMW that needs nothing. Get in and drive. All the major expenses of overhauling and restoring the car have been done. All there is left to do is enjoy it. The underside of the car is clean, though does have some typical 2002 rust, but it is solid and in great shape. Under the hood is beautiful. Clean and excellent. This car comes with a tune-up kit and some extra parts, including new plug wires, cap, rotor, carb rebuilt kit, front wheel bearings plus a restoration manual and repair manual. These are preventative maintenance parts- the car doesn't need any of these parts at the moment but they're great to have on hand. Those with sharp eyes will notice a rocker panel trim strip missing from the car in the outdoor photos- this has since been replaced. A few things wrong, the heater blower motor isn't working, and the (manual) sunroof seems to open about halfway and that's it. I don't know if maybe that is normal or not. The headliner is original and is in somewhat rough condition, as is the "package shelf" behind the rear seat. This is a non A/C car, though the dash has controls for a dealer-installed A/C system that was removed decades ago. The choke cable is broken, therefore in cold temps the car needs a minute or so to warm up. This is a super fun, collectible car that gets looks and thumbs-up everywhere. Don't buy a basketcase, buy one like this with all the hard work already done. Next on my list is to shorten the front and rear bumpers by about 3 inches each. Its a fairly easy process that involves releasing the pressure from the hydraulic cylinders and taking out the plastic pieces. I may get to this before the end of the listing, or I may not! I have this car stored in my heated building in Willoughby, OH. I buy and sell vintage/intersting cars for a living- if you have questions, or if you'd like to see the car before bidding, please email me or call/text me at 440 339 4341.
