Vehicle Detail

here is my ranchero i have been driving for a long time. i bought it about 20 years ago from a friend of mine. he wasnt looking where he was going and hit another car. his insurance company, not loving old fords, totalled it. good luck for me, all it needed was a right front fender, bumper, grill, and lower valance. it was in december, so i waited untill new years day, i forgot about football and went to pick-a-part half price day and got everything for 90 bucks! after installing the new parts, i painted the car with dupont centari, new gt stripes from dearborne classics, and it looked really good for about the first five years. then my lack of maintence and my just use it as a truck attitude took its toll. the paint is faded, has scratches and chips, and dings. even has a few dings on the top from motorcycle handelbars. the good news is you can park it anywhere without worring that some knucklehead might put a door ding in it. the car is 99.9% rust free, i'll save that .1% for anyone that wants to come over with a magnifing glass to find some. all in all, it still looks cool. sure, anyone with a bucket full of money could restore the interior to like new condition, but only years of use, minimal upkeep, and the hot california sun could give you an interior with this much character. these cars are built pretty tough, the bed still looks pretty good considering its hauled hundreds, if not thousands of engines, blocks, cylinder heads, motorcycles, washers and dryers, welders, sofas, recliners, dogs and kids. the engine in it now is a 351w out of a 76 granada, yeah, i didnt know granadas had 351s either. it only had about 60,000 miles when i put it in about 7 years ago. your guess is as good as mine how many miles it has now, the speedo quit a long time ago. it runs excellent, its stock other than headers, edelbrock intake and carb, and mustang valve covers. always runs strong, c4 trans works good. i think dion was singing about towns and girls when he did "the wanderer" but it could be about the front end. if you took archie bells advice and did "the tighten up" with some ball joints and a tie rod end or two, you could take ann and nancy for a ride and it would go "straight on" for you. brakes are front discs, and all ok, no power steering or brakes. a/c used to work, needs a new compressor, which pisses me off because the one thats on it aint that old. heater would work great if you put the new core that comes with the car in. the wheels are truly bitchen. all 4 have ansen manufacturing, gardena california cast into them. front 15x6, rear 15x8.5, made about the same time the car was. tires are almost new. im not thrilled about selling it, i just dont have anywhere to put it, and i need the cash. call or email with any questions 951 237 8246 tony
