Vehicle Detail
This is a 1950 Pontiac Eight Deluxe Wagon. This Wagon is known as a Tin Woodie. This Wagon should be listed as a Barn Find. It has been sitting in a Barn in North Eastern Ohio for some time. This Wagon has a Clear Ohio Title. It is running and has brakes. It can be driven, but the newer drive train requires a 12 Volt Battery and the Car's electrical system has not yet been updated, so the lights are all 6 Volt. Turning them on might be a bad idea! The Wagon has a Small Block Chevrolet Engine and Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission. The Engine is not detailed out, but starts easily and runs well. We put a fresh battery in her today and she started right up and idled. We drove her around the farm with no problems from the drive train or brakes. Although she starts and runs and drives, I would not plan on flying in and driving her home. She should probably be trailered away. The Body on this car is very solid. There is a small rust area on the left rear fender and another on the driver's door. The front clip is solid. The doors are solid. The roof is solid. The Spare Tire Well is solid. The Tail Gate is solid. The Lights on the Tail Gate roll outward, as the Tail Gate is lowered. This was a feature that allowed the car to be driven, with a load protruding past the Tail Gate and still displaying Running, Brake and Turn Signal Lights. The Rear Hatch Window is good. The left windshield is cracked. The front passenger window is missing. The rear driver's side window is cracked. The rest of the glass is good. The Wagon has the Original Windshield Visor. The Wagon still has the Awesome Pontiac Hood Ornament. The seats are all present. They could use recovering. The Dash is good. The odometer is showing 10461 miles. The owner tells me that this mileage is correct. The Doors have Wood Trim on their interiors. There is other Wood Trim inside the car. This car was used as an advertising sign for years in front of an auction house in Abilene, Texas. It was brought to Ohio in 1982 and stored away in a barn. I do not know when the drive train was replaced. The car still has the painting on both sides, from the auction house. This car has excellent patina. It can be driven and enjoyed, almost just as it sits. A little wiring work would make this car a daily driver or it could be used again as an advertising display. This would be an awesome Hot Rod or Surf Wagon. This is the sort of car that gets attention where ever it goes. It has a few dings, here and there, but what a cool ride! I am listing this for a friend. It may take some time for me to answer questions, but I will try to respond to all emails. This Vintage Wagon sells without reserve to the highest bidder. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton Ohio.
