Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false What we have here is a fine old classic luxury car. Some assembly required. I have been selling off a collection of cars for a nice Widower named Lee. Her late Husband Irv was very found of Chrysler products. He collected and restored many. He always seemed to start with cars that were in sound shape. This car being of that description. What I know about it is this. It starts and runs, moves forward and back. I drove it around the parking lot. I believe that the gas has started to go bad as it’s running a little rough. The carb looks like it was recently rebuilt. The car has been sitting for about 3-4 years. Paint prep work was started, and the chrome removed to be re-plated. The car was then moved to its present location in Ontario (California) at an old friend of Irvs body shop. Irv became Ill and work was stopped. The chrome was sent out and everything was re-chromed. It appears that it’s all there, but I am not knowledgeable enough about this particular model to know for sure. There are some before pictures of what was sent to the chrome shop. One issue is that the seats were sent out to be reupholstered and I don’t know where they went. There is a small possibility of finding them, but we have to assume that they are gone. So this is what we know: 59 Chrysler LaBaron 85k milesAC car Chrome is replated Has new weather stripping Stainless Steel roof Runs and drives, appears to be mechanically sound. Dash and Instrument panel are in gorgeous condition Body appears to be sound with only surface rust Lee has a clear title for this carNo seats This being said, I only looked at the car for an hour, drove it around the parking lot, and took pictures. I’m a bit of a motor head, and in my opinion the car seems to be sound. Car is sold, AS IS, WHERE IS and will need to be moved in the near future. The body shop is closing because the gentleman that owns it is retiring. This is a really interesting big, luxury Chrysler. Would be a straightforward restoration or would make a sweet slammed sled (for those so inclined). It’s a little bit rare because of the Stainless Steel top as well. Please email me with any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability. If you have the chance to come look at the car, contact me and I will arrange it.
