Vehicle Detail

1992 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4X4 This is an excellent little SUV! Well maintained, this era of 4Runner looks so fine that folks have a hard time believing they are 15 to 20 years old. Very few vehicles from the early 90's hold their value and remain in such high demand as the Toyota 4WD 4Runner. They were made to last! I love working on these vehicles, rebuilding and restoring them to their original stature. In addition to overhauling the topside of the engine, I have inspected this vehicle from front to back and replaced or repaired almost everything that didn't work or was worn out. Everything works!* There are no leaks or seeps, everything is dry and the motor doesn't burn any oil. The 3.0L 150-HP EFI OHC V6 3VZ-E Engine comes with an Automatic 4-Speed transmission including overdrive, anti-lock brakes, power windows, locks, sideview mirrors, antenna and steering. The interior (Gray) and the exterior (Forest Green Metallic) are still in great condition. The dash was cracked and faded like most 2nd gen 4runners so I restored it to NEW condition. The drivers seat is showing some signs of wear. (see pictures) This 4Runner is equipped with running boards, an adjustable roof rack, rear heater controls and a Panasonic CQ-C133U AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary jack for ipod or mp3 and a remote control. It has nearly new BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A tires on premium aluminum wheels and a full size spare tire. I replaced almost all of the steering and suspension components including the front & rear shock absorbers as well as the rear coil springs to return its ride, stance and response to the original specifications. 2nd Generation 4runners tend to sag in the back with age. Compare this 4runner to pictures of other 4runners for sale to judge yourself. This vehicle has a clean title, Experian Autocheck and Carfax report. The ebay provided Experian Autocheck doesn't reveal an accident in its history but the Carfax does. I have provided a link to the Carfax report. In 2003 the front of the vehicle was damaged. I could determine that the hood and front bumper were replaced. The repair was excellent as almost a decade later there is no fading and the paint on the car all matches and waxes up great. I have inspected the frame and it is absolutely straight and within all tolerances. My opinion is that it was a minor fender bender. I am not sure why the two reporting agencies, Carfax and Experian have conflicting information? The Experian report grades this 4Runner low only because it has had 7 previous owners. Regardless of the number of owners, this 4runner has been restored to it original integrity, both mechanically and esthetically. It is mechanically sound, looks fantastic and drives great! I have included detailed pictures from all angles of everything. My son even made a video so you can take a test drive on youtube. Once the gaskets are replaced they are good to go for another 100,000 + Miles. A major maintenance expense for a 4runner and all Toyotas is the timing belt. They must be replaced before they fail or serious engine damage will occur. At $700 it is the most expensive required maintenance item. Those who choose to skip this service risk ruining their engine. I have replaced both the Head gaskets and the timing belt, water pump and pulleys were replaced at 186,000 miles. All of the doors including the tailgate open and close like the day it left the showroom. Toyota got it right! All automatic windows work. (another 4Runner issue) There are no chips or cracks in the glass. Automatic side view mirrors work. Stereo System sounds great and the Automatic antenna works perfect. With a brand new AC Compressor and clutch, the AC blows ice cold and the heat blows HOT! All of the fluids have been replaced as well as the front brake rotors and pads. Below is a list of what I have replaced or rebuilt/reconditioned on this vehicle in the last month: Reconditioned: Cylinder Heads reconditioned Rear Drive Shaft balanced Dashboard Replaced: Head gaskets Transmissions Pan Gasket Front Rotors Valve cover gaskets Transmission Filter Front Shocks Intake manifold gaskets Transmission Fluid Rear Shocks Exhaust manifold gaskets Power Steering Fluid Rear Coil Springs Exhaust pipe gaskets Rear End Fluid Both inner Tie Rod Ends Valve stem seals Transfer Case Fluid Both outer Tie Rod Ends Fan Clutch Front Diff Fluid Idler Arm Thermostat Coolant A/C Compressor Radiator hoses Oil Filter A/C Drier Spark plugs Oil R134A Refrigerant Bimetallic Valve Air Filter (old K&N air filter included) Windshield Knock Sensor Wire Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Both Rear Drive Shaft Ujoints #2 Timing Belt Pulley Tires Wiper Blades Shift Solenoids Front Brake Pads Windshield General Terms Inspections and test drives are welcome. 4Runner is sold 'As Is' that is to say with No Warranty. Vehicle Condition – Must Read Vehicle Condition: PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE BIDDING. Please keep in mind you are looking at a 19 year old used car! Even the nicest and the newest of used cars will show some wear and tear under close scrutiny. Normal wear and tear consists of but is not limited to: · Rock chips · Minor dings · Scuffs and paint scratches · Worn interior pieces * In this listing I have stated that "everything works". I know you will find something wrong. I just don't know what it will be. I have fixed or replaced everything that I could find esthetically or mechanically wrong with the vehicle. The upholstry is good for its age showing some wear on the drivers seat. The moulding around the driver side sun visor is missing but the hinge and bracket are intact and the visor goes up and down like it should. There is a piece of the black trim missing on the gear shifter which can be seen in the photos. The rear seat head rests are missing. (see photos) There is no excessive wear and tear (outside of normal use) on this vehicle however this is a USED vehicle and is guaranteed to have SOME flaws. I have tried to name the flaws that I have found. I have thoroughly gone through the vehicle and repaired or replaced every single issue that I could find. I cannot be more clear on this, so here we go again...THIS IS A USED CAR AND WILL SHOW SOME WEAR. Seriously, if you want a perfect car then I can only recommend that you visit your local new car dealer and not buy this car. If you have any questions regarding the condition of this vehicle, please ask BEFORE completing the sale. When looking at a used car please manage your expectations accordingly. The beauty of this 4Runner is that the typical 4Runner issues have all been addressed and so many of the worn out components have been replaced. If you are the winner of this auction and find that I have made any misrepresentation in this posting, I will refund your deposit and you will not be required to complete the sale. This car comes with two keys but no remote control. It does have the owners manual in the glove box and I will through in a free 1992 4Runner sales brochure. Thanks for looking! Instead of an enhanced pickup truck, the new 4Runners featured a freshly designed body mounted on an existing frame. The difference is easily seen when comparing pickups and 4Runners of similar vintage: a 1984 4Runner looks remarkably similar to a 1984 Toyota pickup, whereas a 1990 4Runner shares only subtle styling details with the 1990 pickup. Nearly all second generation 4Runners were 4-door models; however, from 1989 to 1992, a 2-door model was also produced. These models are similar to the 4-door models of the time in that the bodies were formed as a single unit, instead of the fiberglass tops used in the first-generation 4Runners. Two-door 4Runners from this era are extremely rare, and were discontinued in August 1992, probably due to higher importation duties and owner insurance costs. Because the drivelines were still developed from the same source, however, available engines were identical. The same 2.4 L four cylinder (22RE) and 3.0 L V6 (3VZ) engines were available in rear wheel drive and four wheel drive layouts. The new 4Runner used the independent front suspension that had been developed on the previous generation. The older style gear driven transfer case was phased out, and both engines now had chain driven cases, probably to cut down cab noise and vibration. The Hilux Surf version for the Japanese market was also available with a range of diesel engines, including a 2.4 L turbodiesel 2L-TE I4 up to 1993, followed by a 3.0 L turbodiesel 1KZ-TE I4. A small number were also made with a normally aspirated 2.8 L diesel 3L I4. A small number were also produced with a 2.0 L 3Y I4 naturally-aspirated gasoline engine. A common modification for normally aspirated diesel engines (e.g. 2.8L) is the retro-fiting of a turbo (with or without intercooler kit), which can significantly improve performance. Most other full-body SUVs produced at the time (e.g. Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Explorer) featured tailgates that opened upward with the glass closed. In contrast, the second generation 4Runner carried over the retractable-glass tailgate from the first generation. Opening these tailgates requires first retracting the rear window into the tailgate and then lowering the tailgate much like as on a pickup truck. In 1992, the 4Runner received minor cosmetic updates, including modular headlamps instead of the increasingly outdated rectangular sealed beams. Additional cosmetic changes occurred between 1993 and 1995, the last year of the second generation. On Mar-17-11 at 20:08:52 PDT, seller added the following information: fun commercials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17qN8-NwLIs
