1966 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE 4 SPEED With PHS DOCUMENTATION! Here is a very solid 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible 4 speed. This is a REAL 242 VIN code GTO 4 speed! I also have the PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) documentation papers for this car. This GTO was originally silver with blue interior. The car has a Pontiac 389 cubic inch motor that is date coded 1965 (not sure if it is original to the car) with a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" 4 speed transmission (date coded 1969). The car runs strong and shifts great. It has a Hurst Compitition Plus shifter. The car has an older driver quality paint job, but it is still presentable and looks good from 10 feet. It looks as if the rear quarter panels had some work done in the past but looks to have been done correctly and is holding up fine. The bumpers and chrome are all original and are a little dull in spots but here again presentable as a driver. The frame, floors and trunk are solid outside of a small floor patch on the front drivers side (done correctly). The interior is in nice shape also. I just put new carpet and a new dash pad in it. The seat covers and door panels were replace at some earlier point and are in very good shape. The original radio is present but does not work. Horn does not work. The power top works great. The top appears to be original and is also presentable and functional as is. The rear window is cloudy. Car has had a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and clutch fork installed. In addition the car has a new battery and the brakes have recently been serviced. The car has duel exhaust with cherry bombs and sounds great! Car runs strong and is a blast to drive.
